Re: The make of the suit
It was for a department store in Chicago called "The Harrogate Shop" written in Ye Olde English script. Probably just one of the many small "3 button shops", to quote JS, that were common in American towns and cities during the 60s.
Looked like a great night - wish I could have made it down. It appears that it would have been the perfect occasion to wear my 3-piece grey flannel suit, Guy.
What a handsome, good-natured looking chap that John Gaul is to be sure. Bark must be worse than his bite.
John Rushton at the launch too. He's great. Looked great.
Best shoe shop in London.
Do we really want to see Ivy back in the high street? Quickest way to fuck it up, surely?
I've a fantastic album of around 34 photos from Mr. Paul S. of the launch night to put up on FB tomorrow...
Great pics from Woofboxer and JG.....nice to see such a good turnout.... good to talk to Richmond Hill, JG, Guy, JS and Paul, Jon & Giles to name a few....Lloyd and I were both mightily impressed with Guy's suit......sorry I had to leave so early, but I had a prior meet-up arranged... Jim, hope to see you next time you're in town....
Great new pics on JS on FB now.
Nevermind all the anti-FB snobbery - You'll pick up on more there first.
... And for what it's worth the FB Cats don't care much for you either !
... In fact they rate you far lower than you rate them !
Hate FB and that's not going to change. Lovely photos, though (I've worked out many but a few people tags or descriptions please). I wouldn't have fitted in with all those cool dudes but I should've taken up the invite, popped on my shitty desert boots - and standard-issue K*ydge of course! - and tried, popped in to buy a book and say hello.
Is Mr. Marsh's Keydge "regular" Keydge or the Keydge for JS? He looks great. Any difference in where they were made?
Found what I was looking for in an older thread, thanks
FB is generally a tool of ugly sycophancy and that's why I'm like Drink and avoid it. However, the J.Simons page is different as its not the vehicle of someone's inflated ego and it works. The photos are great and good to see some younger chaps on there, of course, Chensvold is already firing the opening salvos in his pathetic little skirmishing attack with his dandy flint lock.
If Facebook annoys, just add the people in your life that don't and then block everyone else, and then it is just makes for a nice place to keep in touch, share music n'that. Christ and if you think Facebook is bad, join Tumblr. That makes me question the need for human existence.
