Never gone in for Hanes. Not what they used to be?
Thin wale cords, tan, Lands End

Off to pick up recently acquired Ebay item.
Listening to Coltrane's "My Favorite Things" as an antidote to Black Friday.
Something deeply disturbing about that Fair Isle, too. Surely the 'John Clive' look.
Who makes the DB's Tom? I like them, but don't know if I'd feel right wearing them. The seal skins are even further down that road. 'Poor little fellas' as old rolf would say.
YMC from a few years ago Liam. I think the seal one look the nuts, and for some reason, think I have seen some of these in the flesh - for some reason a hazy memory from being a kid in the 70s with parents who have returned from a skiing trip.
Meret Oppenheim. But you're partly right, in that I think the idea originally came from Duchamp. Like most ideas, I guess, when it comes to modern (and contemporary) art.
^ It seems that my memory has failed me and it wasn't Duchamp after all.
MoMa says this:
"This Surrealist object was inspired by a conversation between Oppenheim and artists Pablo Picasso and Dora Maar at a Paris cafe. Admiring Oppenheim's fur-covered bracelet, Picasso remarked that one could cover anything with fur, to which she replied, "Even this cup and saucer." Soon after, when asked by André Breton, Surrealism's leader, to participate in the first Surrealist exhibition dedicated to objects, Oppenheim bought a teacup, saucer, and spoon at a department store and covered them with the fur of a Chinese gazelle. In so doing, she transformed genteel items traditionally associated with feminine decorum into sensuous, sexually punning tableware."

I suppose a 'Doctor Who' reference wouldn't be welcomed?
Like the colours in the tie. They sit nicely with the shirt.
I have to report that sadly, today, a much love member of this forum was strangled by a Scottish butterfly. He will be sadly missed.

The force is strong with you mate, don't go to the darkside. That tie looks much better. Very nice.
Hopefully Chinfold will invite me to write for the blog. Wait what is the Ivy universe in Star War terms, Flusser the Emperor, Chinfold Jabba. Jimmy Obi Wan? Andy, Han Solo?
Bless you, my son, but I'd more likely be one of those squeaking, insignificant little aliens in the cantina.
Trad shall now be known as The Empire. Who's Chewbacca then? I reckon I'd be an ewok.
Would have to be woofy, surely?
Jimmy'd be that camp, worriting robot.
