Your intention to board a flight to Bonn in order to satisfy HBHs burning sexual desires, of course.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I'm going for a variation on the Alpine Ivy theme

Blue striped Brooks
Heather grey shetland
Bottle green cords
Army surplus 80/20 wool socks (The best!)
Dark brown clunky Vibram soled boots
Big red cotton parka on top

George has a point. That shirt is nice but it's tucked in all wrong. My OCD has been triggered and I've just spent the last three hours cleaning my laptop screen with a wire wool brush. It's really hard to tell what I'm typing because the screens so scratched. Also I don't like the down jacket. You should cut off the sleeves.

Are we looking at an inadequate rise? Not the words you want to hear from Ivyists. Or women.

Is there any distinction?

I did your 20. You guys are right. The shirt alignment is terrible. I thought that after I posted it, but left it anyways. I will defend the ski jacket.

Plain, thin, white Hanes cotton t shirt
Navy Anderson`s Everest, shetland rollneck jumper
Precista PRS10- blue G10 strap
O`Connells Cavalry twill trousers, tapered
Camel, corduroy Invertere `Buffercoat`, with navy melton wool shawl collar

Re: Ivy League style for today

I watched Annie Hall for the 1000th time last night OCBD, and he wears a lot of outfits similar to what you are wearing there (apart from the jacket), the only difference is the higher waist band. Which whether you want to call it Ivy or not, just does look a lot cooler. IMO

Re: Ivy League style for today

Yeah, there are NO rights or wrongs. Fortunately...

I think it all depends on the natural body of the person and the silhouette that you achieve, or try to achieve. That, i think, is the most important thing.
Ideally, i like natural waist in smart trousers.

For an example, i like natural waist trousers with a shirt , worn under a crewneck  jumper. If i was wearing a cord sack with the above, i might like the jacket a tad more up-sized than usual (41r).The trousers (30 waist) ,i would want tapered. My chest size is 38. I am not big built , but have wide shoulders, in proportion to my waist size. (V shape).

If i was wearing a shirt  under a jumper, i would never wear high waisted trousers and sports jacket.

If i was wearing a jumper, only, with trousers and a sack cord jacket, i might wear elegant, high waisted trousers (flannel perhaps?), and a cord sack which is not quite so up-sized (40r).

I think Woody Allen was probably wearing stuff in his OWN, knowing, way. He was being the cool nerd. He was a guy who was brilliantly subversive and who knew what worked for him, and his character and general humour.
