All hail the Bass Dover!
If you're a man of the V-persuasion I'm sure this look lends itself very well to you. It also must have been a bugger buying RTW suits.
Aye, you want close not tight. I got mine altered by our tailor, they're a Gant Jason, which has a very flattering seat and rise, on most of the men that try them. It is our most popular jean and 5-pocket.
Unfortunately I then got into doing exercise and the calf has got too tight. I bought another pair to mess around with though. Like I said a few pages back, I like the AP's ones in Pretty Poison.
^ They go very well with the trousers.( Bass Dover)

My avatar is in honour of the Dover-gate incident on Ivy Style. I think some agreed to the idea of pointy shoes being the attire of a 'weasel'.

Surely the rise is all about balance on the individual. The high rise is great on a tall person with a long torso, but someone with long limbed figure and a shorter torso looks better in a medium rise trouser.....just sayin'

I don`t know Claudio, but he seems a genuinely lovely bloke. He`s, also, clearly, very talented. He`s a one-off...

When the trousers are too long for a person's legs they puddle up round the ankles. The above is a good example.
The whole "rise" issue is a bugger these days because of the low rise's so many manufacturers (well designers) use. I have found some decent trousers in shops but then that damn low rise is there when you try them on.
I don't mind a low rise if I have to as I'm not too porky yet, if i'm going to wear them with a jumper or cardi etc. If they are a dressier pair then thats a different story. But I know for a number of the "off the peg" trousers that I own I would put an extra inch or so on the rise straight off in an ideal world.
Love that tie Patrick.
I like the tie and especially the scarf.
