I have to say that I often wear a short-sleeved shirt here and would not do so in London but I cannot understand the extreme aversion from them; especially when they are hidden under a coat.
One day I dare say that some bright spark in anthropology will undertake a Phd thesis on the subject of

I think one of the innovations of the Evil Duke was that he dressed for climate conditions as much as for compliance with social propriety or custom. And when he did have to wear something that made no sense for the climate, he complained about it. In other words, modern.
I kind of like the short-sleeve dress-shirt with a bolo tie -- haven't rocked the look since the early 90's, but I still think it has its place.
I think that all that the Little Dook needs with this suit is a water-squirting buttonehole and a big red nose...
