Re: Ivy League style for today

Interesting series of photos, indeed!

Today I've matched the Caravans with a POW suit, just to subvert the 'friday casual' rule in my last Friday at this office (3 btns, side vented boxy jacket) a white button down (a no-brand italian number, lacking of roll at the collar like some of those seen in many 'continental' ads of the 50s-60s) and a thin regimental tie, black and red. Sturdy Church's Burwood (the only leather-soled shoes I own that keep my feet warm and dry in the snow), basketwave nubuck gloves and US Navy "Overcoat, men, enlisted".
This dirty snow in town is really annoying..

Re: Ivy League style for today

Very similar to my Randolph engineering glasses, which have straight arms, perfect for on the scoot under my helmet.

Yes. Very similar Tom. I've been findng that as I look at AO's online photo's crop up off such and such wearing AO's then the exact same picture claiming they are wearing Randolph Engineering.

AO seem considerably cheaper than the Randolphs. If you don't mind me asking, do you feel the Randolphs are worth the money you paid for them?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Yeah, got them on ebay ex officer stock. 100% perfect, came in the original case. Not seen AO so not sure how they differ.

Sound nice. I'll be going for a pair of AO as they are so cheap when I get paid next. I only have one pair of sunglasses just now. Vintage Ray Bans that I love far too much to have them get beaten up with too much Summer use.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Pashana hair tonic (i really need to get a nice short `college boy` style, now...)
Plain white Hanes v neck cotton t undershirt
Open- necked, un-buttoned collared, JPress `Crème/navy/wine/olive` Tattersall button down shirt . (I just won`t learn! lol! Have i got it wrong again?! - I`m trying to get the hang of it . Please bear with me).
White of Hawick Camel, ribbed,  merino lambswool shawl collar cardigan
O` Connells `charcoal grey` cavalry twill trousers. Medium rise.Tapered (16 inch bottoms)
`Blood red`- silk-  Janet Reger knickers (echoing the wine red  in the `dress shirt`)
A nudge and a wink (wearers own)
Navy cotton ribbed socks
Rich brown George Cox suede Playboy style chukka boots

^ Seven mm of shirt cuff sticking out under the cardigan. The cotton t shirt layer  is not visible to the eye but privides a pleasing bulk, solidity and `padding` to the soft bulk of the merino cardigan. The back of the collar is up just a tad , but the sides are NOT. A la 1966, the Woolster)

That`s me done. Be good everyone! See you next week. smile

Three layers of navy wool: a contemporary Icebreaker T shirt, an old Pendleton long sleeve polo and a classic thick ribbed British raglan shouldered crewneck.
Faded 1947 Levi's, red ribbed Falke Walkies and peanut butter coloured crepe soled Arfano boots. Old American brown herringbone wool knit hat with a visor, over a fresh crop with a neat neck. Short Stewart Dress tartan muffler. Vintage American no name faux tortoise P3 shaped shades with green glass. Olive London Fog G4 jacket.
