Just pick one that does it for you.
Who's The Daddy in your book ?
This is a good poll for the group Jim, fancy running it on there too?
Just added, to answer the question, for me firstly for the East Coast look of Woody Allen and now an infatuation with Mike Nichols.
It's between McQueen and Newman for me. I'd say Newman has the edge on Mcqueen..... just though, just. I know they're both obvious choices but obvious for a reason IMO.
Uhm.... Don Draper?
^Not enough button-downs for my liking.
Oh and I'm adding Jack Dempsey for the 20's influence.
The first cats that really intrigued me were, to be honest, the Kingston Trio. This goes back to my adolescence, when I first really perused my father's records. Those guys just had this look that really made an impact on me - the bright colored striped short sleeve bds and the short tight chinos with white socks and pennys, neat haircuts, etc. Youthful, vigorous ivy.
Solid. *raises fist in solidarity*
Andy of Derbyshire.
You should change your name to 'Andy B Fan'.
In hindsight, I could maybe even add my old man to the list. One pic of him always comes to mind:
It's probably 1964 or 65, he and my mother are in his mom's backyard about to set off on a boating trip or picnic. He's wearing some equivalent of Wayfarer shades, a tight white V-Neck T, tucked into some really tight, short madras shorts, looking trim and resplendent in white socks and shiny pennies. God, a great picture.

Dean Swift.
And Andy.
Aside from the One for me, I quite like the look of vintage Woody Allen (been a long time since I can watch even the good films) and Montgomery Clift.
