Those are Superstars. They are much more pumped up looking than the sleeker Campus.
I wore Superstars when I was younger too. It was the trend to colour the toes in with fluro markers. I guess I was about 15 then. My Dr Dre period.
I think I'm just going to get another pair of Surgical appliance "trainers" for the gym and running. I have a couple pairs of canvas for casual wear. I don't know how Oo Bop actually runs in those Keds.

The Campus I seem to remember was a good all rounder. Good for Football, running and what little Skateboarding I actually did (mostly it was just posing and showing off cuts and grazes to girls). I walked everywhere then. Probably about 5 miles a day not counting sports. The Incontinence pants never let me down. I had a short dalliance with Chucks but they didn't cut it. Van's, I put up with for the look, and still do but Incontinence pants were always top of the heap. I'm talking myself into looking for a pair now.
I'd like a vintage pair of Olympiade but the chances of me finding those is about as realistic as either one of us finding the perfect Sta Prest.
Enjoying this thread, Liam, Paul (Drink) and Steve McQueen Fan.
Thanks.

I don't know how others feel about this: obviously I'm a hardcore fan, but I think his clothes look bloody awful in The Hunter (except for the watch). I can't equate any of it much with my idea of ivy, even stretching my incredible imagination. The sneakers are OK by me, especially for those sorts of things, although I wouldn't wear a pair. The name Jox has a touch of violently aspirational athletic ivy. All slightly more in line than the Miles Davis snakeskin trousers, anyway.

I suppose he could've been wearing a different jacket and we'd all be loving it. Shirts look nice, jeans look ok, although they didn't seem to escape from the 80's puddle epidemic. Actually it is all pretty shit.
The jacket. I think you've hit on my central problem with his look.
Take away the skin/boneheads and the 90's rave connection and would we just see that as another cool 'Army' style jacket? Or is it the fact they're so shiny that we turn our noses up at them. God knows.
Excellent work Paul. I'd have put serious oney on those being Tigers. Who'd have thought McQueen would wear discount brand shoes. I guess it was maybe a character choice? I've never seen The Hunter. I might give it a go tonight.
Thanks for the info from everyone who's posts today. All very interesting.
Tom, I'd go as far as to say that these are better looking than Stan Smith. The look sleeker and less fussy. Nice find.

those Jeepers get my vote
I noticed but forgot to mention... those red Lapchick Play Makers have 3 stripes on them. I wonder if they had these initially but Incontinence pants stepped in? Anyone know?
I'd love some Super Bullets. Just that name is great.
I'd like to hear if George remembers any of these brands and if so what they were like quality wise compared to his Flyers.

Keds baseballs? Slightly different stitching to the styles Ive seen but same idea. These came out first in the 90's so any pair you see aren't any older than that. I'm not sure if they are still in production.
