might be nice as a jacket half-lining/pocket flap lining, especially for a tweed jacket?

Not sure I'd go swimming in bleeding madras though. You risk a near-indelible bright yellow wiener.

Yeah hadn't thought of that!

Wish I had another yard to work with... maybe some short clamdiggers for the beach?

I have so many tweeds that I can't imagine the next time I'd use it as lining.

You'd get a few square end ties out of that. Maybe variations on different angles of check on the tie or focus on different areas of the check to get a different colour effect. Variations on a theme.
