What I don't like about tassels is the constant feeling you have that your laces are undone when you walk. It's venetians or pennys from here on in. Actually these were a bit of a steal, they were £15 in a charity shop in my town, completely unworn Cheany loafers in my size. Worth risking the i-gent factor I guess.

Hard to say which is sexier, a white wrist or a white ankle.

I did actually FXH! Not normally something that worries me, but I left my other belt at work yesterday. So on with the black one. I quite like black with blue. The black kind of roots the whole look. IMO

I'm hoping the skin exposure on my ankles will up Vitamin D production.

Re: Ivy League style for today

This type of talk, concerning Mikkel Rude and such is what will have Andy wanking like a steam-engine into vast black hole of where he likes to determine this forum is going. Fact is MR is a much different aesthetic to what most of us want, but I can assure you Mike in no way looks like he would go about sadistically gang banging anyone. I've never owned an MR shirt, but can you really say apart from some very specific details. That they look that much different to many of the large collared shirts of the 50's and 60's? Not really. If he was sporting a DNA I might be, wait a sec, that doesn't really make the grade. But the MR's in madras, under a jumper, I'd like to see anyone really spot that as being un-ivy like if they didn't know what it was before hand. You might think the collar was excessive mind.

Know your market Drink. First rule of retail. You've got to tap into the mindset.

Not that Mike is anything like that.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I've always liked Ox's honesty in the way he dresses, but I'd like to see some experimenting with patterns and colours, only cause I think it'd tip the whole thing over into being exceptional. (if he'd allow me to buy him a higher rise chino and taper the leg) I like the simple items he wears. But because it's simple you have to really work the way the colours relate to each other. This isn't meant to sound like I do that all the time, it's more a case of what I try to do. And I think it's important from a kind of design point of view. Otherwise I just don't think I'd be bothered with clothes. The lady I work with calls it, ''telling a story''? I suppose what she means is a interesting cohesiveness that runs through the outfit. And I think Ox has done that a few times.

If you eradicate a Dr. Spock like approach to the written word Yuca, you can kind of catch my drift. wink

If I could be arsed I could grab a few images available of US shirts that have long BD collars. Probably they were made in response in the late 60's to the more swinging style. But I'm sure I've seen 50's and 60's shirts with 4-finger rolls. Anyway. Life is short, and my point is, as long as I've know Mike he has dressed as what I'd consider soft-mod style, with Yankee leanings. And I think he knows what he is doing.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Also for the record I'm not saying I like Mikkel Rude shirts. I don't like big collars really, 3 1/2 finger does me fine. (Liam, feel free to hit that one out the park).
