Re: Ivy League style for today

There was a chambray 3/2 sack on Newton Steet earlier this week in your size Liam...

I got the Knitcrest top in the mail today and just scored this cool mid century mohair Arrow cardi on the Etsy:

I saw it Oliver. It was slightly big in the shoulder and the lapels a bit wide for me. Plus I'm poor this month and probably the next.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thank you for the kind words, Liam. Guess it looks even better in the pics than I thought it looks on me when I looked in the mirror...  Shoes you know already, socks are my all time love for stripes and all that stuff. The chambray blazer - although darted and only two button - is one of the more "Ivy" blazers I have due to the natural shoulders, the patch and flap pockets and the chambray. Was a real bargain at € 29,-- at LE's sale smile wears really nicely!

I've gone completely sideways, man. I've had a look online for home remedies for cock addiction and I see that electroshock therapy was widely used in the 50's and 60's. So, I'm gonna get in the tub and I want you to throw the tape machine in when White Rabbit peaks.

Wow. That's great. I wouldn't wear the socks with it but that's a matter of personal taste.

Is that jacket vintage or what? I'd like a nice cord jobbie like that.

Too high above the waist was the badge of the hopeless nerd/engineering student.  High waters were also not cool, the right length is the right length and you either grasp it, have the eye, or you don't.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I'm kinda off the BB trail. The book got less interesting as it went on to be fair. The chapter about the book bags was really hard work. I have enlightened myself toward the early hunting coats and some outdoor clobber. Some of that 30s hunting garb was quite cool. Interesting that Bean was using the term "Wicked" to describe products from the 20s onward. Not a bad read upto the 70s.

Yeah cord, must try and sort one one from some where. Online always ends in tears though.

Matching those blues up is a bit Dandy-you wanna watch that, hipster.

This is sad news Simon. I was looking forward to discussing the best way to keep a Swedish Torch going with you. I guess I'll just have to nearly the set the woods on fire on my own then.

GBN- digging the split toes. I always wish I was man enough for a pair of those. One day, maybe.

Rainy trip to the East End today:

Olive green Dunn & Co fly front mac, burgundy and olive paisley silk scarf, Alan Paine navy blue crew neck lambswool sweater, white pin striped Gant 'Woodbridge' BD shirt. turned up 501s, plain charcoal socks, burgundy Loake Royals, khaki J Press rain hat with guards stripe ribbon, black face Christopher Ward chronograph with black leather strap.

Purchase: mint condition vintage navy blue Burberrys harrington, after hard bargaining in Spitalfields, £55. Large amounts of beer and food, £? can't remember and don't want to.

Met Tracey Emin's mum - different but priceless.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Geez, I've been asked for that fellas autograph by two different tellers in separate banks and stopped in the aisles of the Castro theatre by an old guy who had to let me know that his wife and daughter just love me - took a while to figure that one out! I've googled his pictures and I can't see any resemblance whatsoever with that square looking TV character. It's obviously the hair... but even that's not right.

The top half don't go with the bottom half imo, the shirt and tie are to formal for 5 pockets and sneakers. Love the cut of the trousers though they look great, may have to get a pair.
