Providing a YouTube link to 'A Train' would be a service to humanity - someone?

Of course, one of the greatest musical figures of the 20th century, Billy Strayhorn, was openly (I'm fairly sure) gay. I should think that took guts. Cole Porter was perhaps protected by his personal connections. Most of my cultural heroes seem to have been gay, black or Jewish. James Stewart is the exception to the rule!
Strayhorn was indeed openly gay, but was well protected being in Ellington's band and also his co-composer.
Most of my heroes have been degenerate alcoholics with the exception of David Bryne who at one time was just plain weird. I remember my father bursting in one evening to inform me he must be gay, like I really cared either way.
My sister insisted Paul Weller and Mick Talbot were definitely gay after watching the video to 'The Long Hot Summer'.
The Faux Homosexual Modernist would be a good name for a pair of shoes.
Maybe slip ons with pretend lacing; or brogues where the vamp is one piece of leather cut to look like a traditional brogue. An unusual colour would help.

The music industry - particularly the pop end, where the performance is more important than artistic values - always attracts gays. The only variable is if it's commercially viable for them to admit their sexuality.
Apparently a number of the most successful rappers are of the gay persuasion, although if it that became public knowledge their careers would be over.
At a guess... Jay-Z...?
Just look at the lyrics... 'If you're having girl problems I feel bad for you son, I've got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one.'
And just why is that Jay?

Little Richard is hardly lacking in credibility. (although depending on the time he can often be "ex gay" and christian.)
Long John Baldry.
Try the "Sissy Man Blues" album on Mojo - I think

It was all over the place around 1972: Warhol, The Velvet Underground, Bowie, Bolan, Elton John. I suppose it helped sell records.
Elton John had to be dragged kicking and screaming into following that fashion, but he's done his best ever since. He's a professional.

Anybody that takes pride in how he dresses leaves himself open to been called gay in this day and age doesn't he?

I guess it's just an easy and lazy assumption to make. Those sort of people are used to doing the easy and lazy thing... which is why they dress the way they do.
I don't think so sweetie.
Good read that Soggs, cheers.
