^ Definitely adds interest.

Anybody notice the sign 'E. Main Street' - a clear Rolling Stones reference?

Probably means Keith Richard sleeps with the fishes.

You've got sharp eyes.

So tell me, what is checkered poppa holding in his hand? A kebap? A BURNT LEG? Something to nibble, while he drags his obviously sedated wife home to have her for dinner?

It might be an ornamental candle lamp base, ethnic perhaps? Looks an east African design to me. Possibly Ivory Coast, mid 1800s. I'm just guessing though, I'd need a better look to be sure.

Axelist, a classic look, great stuff. Who are those flannel trousers made by?

Oliver, who is the maker of the shawl collar cardigan?

It's a Barbour.

Cheap threading on those leather football buttons though, had one pop off 5 minutes after I put it on and thankfully noticed it on the street. I had to go over each one with a needle and thread, but otherwise it's great!

Thank you, guys. I was so exiceted to post a picture that I forgot about everything else. wink

The blazer is old Brooks Brothers, shirt is a modern BB must iron OCBD, tie is RL. The trousers were made by an tailor, unfortunately he is out of business now. Should have used him more often. Shoes are modern Weejuns.

Axelist. I spotted the Weejuns straight off the bat. Modern Weejuns keep that fresh out the box look for so long. It's not so bad if you like that look... which I do. really love that look overall.

Oliver. Tie tuck! Nice touch. I also love your new hair. Much neater with the conservative duds.

Nice look Oliver.  Agree with the comments on the haircut.  Who makes the mac?  Been looking for a full raglan sleeved one to replace my London Fog.

Thanks, it's a custom Grenfell ordered through JS.

Quite pricey but worth every penny... Just ask Paul about the raincoat for Oliver in San Francisco. Best investment all year!

Agree on the hair Oliver, it's grown in nicely! It's a bit Dustin Hoffman, no?

Hang that mac up in the bathroom when you shower, that should knock some of those creases out of it. Then you can show it in public!

Axel: Classic conservative (in a very good way) Ivy stuff! Like the blazer...

Oliver: Get that Mac shortened!!! Otherwise, a great coat... Like the cardie, too. Hair... still good, but I'd get it even shorter in the sides. smile You will do that, I went the same journey two years ago wink

You mad Leer? Where would that coat end for you ideally? Mid thigh?

Re: Ivy League style for today

That's a good length for me I have to say. But I wouldn't say a little longer isn't good. Definitely not 3 exclamation points bad!!!!

Anyway that pictures not such a good point to judge from. For all we know that coat ends just under where the pictures cuts off.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks indeed. Had it cut really short and proper ivy 'bout a month ago, and looked just like Craig Stevens. This is seen rather abused, sweaty and windy after pushing my way up Nob Hill on the hunt for a rental flat.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Have to disagree on the coat length, a proper rain mac should be knee length to fully protect from the elements. This one's a near exact copy of Cary's coat from Charade. I had it customized through JS with explicit detailing on these specs. Doubt I'll be going shorter 'round the sides either, but will definitely be keeping it neat trimmed from here on.

Nah, sorry mate - to have them THAT short is just a personal preference... Thought it was a tad longer than it really is, too. Nothing to fuss about... But mine's not a modern misinterpretation, it's just a vintage Burberrys' car coat, I didn't alter it, too.

Re: Ivy League style for today

It's a simple equation in my mind, you're outside in your suit, it rains, do you really want your legs soaking as the water runs off the jacket and on to your legs, I actually prefer the look of above the knee, but what is the point of spending all that money if the jacket doesn't do what it is meant to do, and with that, I will always look to buy longer now, or not at all.
