Yes, I did some work in Leyton and ate every lunch time in a pie and mash shop. Can't fault it.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I'll support ya there Mighty Max with a Cooper A 2 which I'm gonna slip over a white T,  Levis vintage 505s and give these John Spencer Harvard pennies their first outing...may even do some Fonz impressions whilst I'm out...?

Cooper's have gone out of business (AGAIN!)...they've bounced back before so they may do so this time... but they're a decent jacket I think...and the only real affordable version of the A2 unless you're talking a monkey n upwards...(one for Armchaired there...I hope you had some elasticated waistbands at the ready after Double Double Double, he he...my local one down the Goldhawk is threatened with closure so I too enjoyed their menu a few weeks back....an excellent feed!)

Sun's out peeps...have a tickety-boo day y'all!

Haha. I had a pair of Wranglers from the Bellshill factory once. They were very well made.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Aye, they are. They pair I had had a yellow 'Made in Scotland' label inside that looked rather 80's, but maybe 70's. I had no idea they were UK made when I bought them though.

A quick look online tells me I was wrong about Wrangler in Bellshill. It was Levi's who had a finishing factory there and Wrangler had theirs in Falkirk.

My uncle actually spent some time working part time in a Levi's factory in Glasgow (I think they had more than one at one time) before he was on good money as an apprentice Slater.

Not sure when all these finishing plants closed. Probably 80's through 90's?

EDIT- The Levi's and Wrangler plants closed in 1999 and 2002

Re: Ivy League style for today

A bit of the Hillbilly/Americana/Duelling Banjos to me today...

Levis Vintage stripe T (Yep....way overpriced to my thinking buy can always be snapped up in Cinch's sales at 50% off so you can effectively always get 2 for 1..which is what Thee Captain did and no mistake...)
Vintage 505s with a fuck off turn up on 'em I have to say
Buzz Rickson Sweat
Red Wing Supersoles moc toe boots - Oooh must be 12 years old and still going strong....I adore them!
Oregon Wild Hair Moustache Wax.....a-hem....slapped on a tache...that's part of a beard...that's rapidly getting "out of control".. (Cue them there Banjos Jethro...)
A Barbour Sunbeam to ward off thee monsoon that will apprently hit thee Metropolis later whilst I is getting tanked up in Fitzrovia all being well....

I should add I've a fair bit of windypops today...and eagerly await my Beef Chimichanga from last night to reach the "departure lounge"...
Ooh...hello.... there's a stirring....
