'Round our way slippers outdoors used to be a dead giveaway that you were 'care in the community'!
Some things never change...
It is fairly warm. It's miserable outside so I've been avoiding setting foot into the cold.
Just need some twine to tie it round the middle.
How did they work out Bop? Tapered all the way down?
Is that 14" rise about right on you?
I think they're a bit big, I'd probably need a size down and let the waist out for 'the look', but I quite like them, I'd say I don't need a rise higher than 13, these sit above my belly button. Fine with a shirt untucked, but I'm not sure I'd tuck. The waistband is super thin, like you mentioned. They're definitely a starting point for the tailor and me. The material is amazing, there does seem to be a certain amount of beauty to some polyester from the 60's. I couldn't even describe it. Finely spun Space Wool maybe?
I agree. There was a point where Poly was truly space age and the future. The Poly Levis used in those early slacks and sta prest was great but it went right down hill in the late 60's. Other manufacturers made that nice Poly all through the 70's but somewhere down the line (with outsourcing perhaps?) well made softer forgiving Poly disappeared and I think most people have forgotten how remarkably natural the material could be when made right.
Foggy cold maritime weather here.
sand desert boots, cream H&M 5-pocket cords
Hanes fitted Beefy-T under a pale grey Anderson double Everest crewneck
unlined Lands' End field coat in olive, reddish Pendleton wool shirt as a liner
Wigwam 625 crew socks (3 years old now and still good) on the ground floor
Wigwam 'Alcatraz' stone-coloured beanie on the roof ($7 hat still made in the USA)
Wolsey lined Short Mac/Car coat
Hawick Shetland
Orvis Tattersal
Bean double l chinos
Clarks dessies
Too small for me that. If I did get one it would need to have the knitted hem and cuffs - otherwise it is too close to a shirtjac.
Stunning mate ,just stunning!
Perfect fit mate!
