Im quite against neatness. I think its the thin wedge of fasicm. But I wasnt keen on the outfit. But then we are a diverse bunch. Id hate it to be like modculture where people had enyuresms when someone had an untucked shirt. He looks like one of those beatniks to me. And probably a commie

Harpo, where'd you score that fantastic sheepskin?
I've been looking for one in a chocolate buffer coat for years!
As of next month I hopefully should be out the rag trade, and on to my new job as training to become a nutritionist, which seems quite ironic for someone of my alcohol intake. I'm quite looking forward to not having to dress overly-smart anymore, but I'm sure I will keep clean shaven, and keep my barnet in check. I can finally spend all my clothes money on board shirts, I appreciate some people not only like suiting, but also need to wear suiting, but I'm far more interested in the casual Ivy look, which just has as many important factors when it comes down to details, like the loose taper chinos and jeans, etc. It doesn't all have to be retired mods hell bent on neatness. But I think max goes a bit stray on none of it really lending itself to Ivy, and it definitely doesn't look good, mainly because of the cut of the chinos. My compromise is organised chaos Ivy.
Yeah im in charge of salting the chips and emptying rat traps.
Seriously: congratulations.
I'll get those 5 gold stars in no time.
No wool mark - a rare size small that I found over on etsy.
Cheers Tom, it's just my obsession with Pendleton.
It dates about 57-64 from the lack of woolmark and the lapel shape.
I'll PM you if any 'small' turns up on one of my hunts.
Nice to know fella, fits a treat.
Seen many medium sizes out there with odd measurements and always thought they might of been washed too hot because of this. Shame as some great colours and patterns.
I don't really like the chinos, I know your a thin guy so can appreciate you don't want skinners, but they don't look tapered, so that's off for me, everything else is kosher enough, people might have a hard time with the colours on the jumper but, hey-ho. Nothing to say you can't you can't wear just a t-shirt under a jumper I guess, but overall, although its not far away from what I wear, I'm not keen on it all together, but the chinos being the only Ivy gripe. Or maybe they are tapered? THis is where you tell me they're a vintage pair of 1966 Lee's or something

I'm gonna say these are Gap Fremont chinos, which I have a pair of myself - I don't wear mine rolled and think the look more Ivy for it as they are a pretty straight leg as I remember.
I'm no purist either Max - many would still see me as more on the mod look - but compared to those I see 'mod'd' up, I think i've a fairly big foot into ivy.
I think it's easy to look at pictures from the 50s and 60s and think yeah that looks cool I'm going to give it a go, but in reality the look doesn't really look that cool put in a modern setting. I like those Watts pictures as pictures, I wouldn't try and dress like that because it's not going to work for me and I'll just look scruffy. I don't see them as being particularly Ivy either, there's elements sure but it ain't really Ivy IMO. Max I think your look would work better with a plain coloured jumper, the bright stripes just don't look Ivy if that's what you're going for. I think the trousers look ok personally, but I wouldn't roll them up, I'd get them cuffed and a bit lower. The boots look scruffy, but if you're trying to copy that picture that works. Just my tuppence worth.
Tom the Pendleton looks good. Even with the the customs charge thats still a good price, annoying though.
