I think you are mistaken Thor ,the Cat is a student ,he doesn’t work in McDonalds.
Although I dare say we have many graduates in the country who are flipping burgers as we speak.

Anyway I have never been a cat person but our feline friend from Brum is turning me.
Well done again Cat looking really warm and cool at the same time, if thats possible.

Warm but probably a bit boring from me today
Although Bean boots are always a controversial choice on here.

Brooks Blue Makers ocbd
Cranberry mix Shetland
Brown cord Levi 505, slippers on now
But Bean Rubber mocs when I venture out later..

Liam, yes it's at the bottom of the button placket. I'm also a sucker for these additional details.

Cheers Thor.

Thanks AC. Kind words yet again. If you ever fancy a big mac and you are in Birmingham give me a shout!

That cranberry mix shetland sounds tasty? What's the origin?

Nothing wrong with that. I have been on the prowl (get it?!) for a deep burgundy/red coloured shetland for a while, must keep looking.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Its probably just a warped angle from taking a picture in a mirror with a slight downward angle. The jacket body hits at my second thumb knuckle and the fastening point is about 2" above my navel. A slightly longer line than some of my jackets but pretty standard.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Look at the distances between the horizontal bars in the plaid. They don't look equally spaced, which says to me there could well be an illusion in perspective in play here.

I certainly would like to wear the shirt with the collar buttons fastened. But then, I don't own a Mercers chambray unfortunately so it's hard for me to say for sure if I would be tempted to wear them undone if I did.

I do like that 'what the heck' attitude to dressing and Zach does it better than most but what a shame to miss out on that Mercer roll.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Well Zach would know he is wearing the bloody thing! But I remember he had an Andover 48R or 50R in his shop a while back and I noticed similar on that too, only an inch or so lower, and maybe even closely set too, never looked right to me. Not how the other one I posted looks, it's not the overcheck or angle I don't think, but I'll try not to obsess I reserve the right to be completely wrong.

Cracking stuff from The Cat and Zach.

The 'state tartans/plaids' are a bit of a curio, some states have two ( a natural/home and travelling plaid) and some states can't be bothered.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._state_tartans

Hawaii is my personal fave, the perfect climate for a tartan wink

Nice to see a Kamakura Shirt in the flesh (so to speak), looks like a good shape. Did you buy online?

Welcome 6.

The shirt is nice, however the collar may be a tad small for my tastes.

Re: Ivy League style for today

@Tomiskinky -Yes, right from their website. It's a bit of an effort though, wadding through all that Google translate nonsense. I probably wouldn't do it again.
@Armchaired - This is their standard fit. The shirt was much fuller when it first came although oddly enough it was darted in the back. This has been brought to my trusty tailor.
@Yuca - Yes I concur, I'd prefer a longer collar - although to be fair I think its longer IRL than what that picture makes it out to be (white is hard to capture). I've got a Mercer on order. Hopefully they'll be the 'answer' to my shirting needs.

Overall, the fabric is substantial but very average. After shipping I paid nearly AUD$75 a shirt. Not the best value. I've also got a light blue one, which I'll hopefully capture tomorrow.

On a random note - I was in a meeting today with a Senior Exec who happened to be Japanese, and he was sporting a button down which had the most amazing collar roll. I wanted to ask him where he got his gear from.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Sounds like the Kams may be good but nothing amazing.  Depending on cost, they could be an option.
