Not heard that term for a long time. Short for rigged out of course.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Ha. Cheers. I know it pre-dates the internet. I also know it's used to describe any number of things colloquially like 4x4 vehicles, platforms of all kinds, winches etc and it's also used to describe certain drug paraphernalia but I have never heard it used to describe an outfit and I only noticed it used recently on other boards. As far as I know it's not been used here yet, well until today.

Just wanted to know if it is very recent or if I've just missed its use elsewhere.

it is old but i remember it as" rig out" rather than just rig.
So if you were taking the piss out of someone it would be
"Look at the state of Joe Bloggs in that rig out"

Re: Ivy League style for today

Good to know. I just haven't heard it before then noticed it on other boards and to me it seemed weird and affected to use it there. But only because to me it was a new construct to use it in the context Kingstonian (and others on other boards) used it.

Gonna see the Strypes - yup, that bunch of 15 yr olds, but they sound cracking and as it's a free gig down the social, so why not.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I had to google The Strypes Tom. 26 and I feel bloody ancient right now. They really do look about 12. They sound like a solid band though. Give them a few years and they could be a very interesting group of young men.

Have fun at the gig anyway, Gramps. wink

Love the Pendleton btw. I have the same plaid on a boardshirt and it gets the most wear out of any of my Pendletons.

You old feckers you, i'm nearly 40 but still like to check out new bands - they did a tight session on 6Music this last sunday - Mate is manager of the social too so i'll twist his arm for a few drinks, he owes me after all the times I fixed his scooter!

Forgot to mention i've go my peacoat on over that lot too, bloody freezing out there today.

Jake Bugg is good, saw him when he opened for the Roses at the secret olympic gig, had a chat with him, really nice lad.

Got a 67 LISpecial, and just rebuilding a 64 TV175 S3 - occasionally pop up on LCGB or Scooterotica.

Have you considered a face lift Zach, it appears to be the next ivy micro trend. Im going to buck the trend with breast augmentation. They re beginning to droop

Re: Ivy League style for today

I've been down the Blonde on Blonde Dylan path. Also a Marriott thing except parted to the side not down the centre. It was fairly close to a bob if I'm honest. Took ages to do. Then a dodgy hairdresser ruined it and I went for a skinhead in desperation. Wore that until I could have it short and neat, side parted and have stuck with that for about 3/4 years now. 26 and my hairs still thick. Maybe lost about 2 cm at the temples... which seems to be the way men go in my family. Hopefully I won't lose too much more. Being honest I would be devastated to lose my hair and I'm a bit OCD about checking the hairline in the mirror.
