Re: Canvas deck shoes

Nope, no footie. The inner lining at the back of the shoe just wore away and left the rubber(it squeeks....), the sole has come away pretty badly at the side and the sole wore down at the back at an alarming rate. I wore them often but not every day and not particularly hard.

Still, I'm glad you're having a better experience and it's the only pair of Keds I've had an issue with! They're good looking and if they're only an occassional shoe I'm sure they're fine. I wear them often so the hard-wearing Vans are good.

Re: Canvas deck shoes

Right now, my favorite pair of canvas sneakers are Puma "Benny" , the all white ones with a red stripe around the bottom. You can google them but the pictures don't do them justice. They're almost perfect, simple , no bullshit. Simalar to Jack Purcell but better cause they're not Jack Purcells.

I also have another pair that I like. I was taking a trip last year and forgot to pack sneakers. I needed something to wear to the gym so I went to a Target(like Walmart) to get the least expensive things I could use . These things have really grown on me . Simalar to Sperrys with a blue stripe, and in the back a vertical stripe about an inch wide the color of faded denim. Perfect with jeans and a blue striped BD. And 10 bucks on clearance!
