Was it part of a suit?  Although it certainly works well with what you´ve paired it with, I can only recall having seen such jackets in suits.

I only say this because I know you're an absolute dude and can take it and it won't adversely effect your vision but I HATE that style of loafer.

To me, there are certain connotations attached to the style. Pimps, Mafioso, used car salesmen in the 1970s.

Probably all inaccurate but I can't see past them.
