Anyone on here ever go down The Pigeon Toad Orange Peel in the mid 80s? Bond St area I seem to recall but I was a big druggie then so memory's turned to mush...

Cheers Lee...so what was at Bond St I wonder? Maybe the PTOP did a one off or summat?
Centre Point area has always been scuzzy...where "one for the road" comes from isn't it...as folk were en route to Tyburn Gallows??
The Crypt in Deptford was another mental place.. left a girlfriend laid out on an old tomb one night there in the summer....and yes, I did check on her at regular intervals and she was in view at all times of the Jamaican bouncers who you really wouldn't mess with...
Clubs ain't wot they used to be...
Perhaps it was Bond Street.
St Giles Church was the last stopping point for prisoners from Newgate before they were dragged to the gallows at Tyburn (close to what is now Marble Arch).
The Deptford Crypt was one of my locals. Ozric Tentacle seemed to play there quite a bit. The place was usually stuffed with Grebos...(Good name for an autobiography)
I used to DJ in Deptford at a bar called Winston's, just off Creek Road @ 1985-1987.
I remember a family coming in for meals every time that we were setting up. They usually had steak and chips so we would play The Smiths, Meat is Murder or Wire's I am the Fly.
Very adult...

I supported the Ozrics once he he... and played the Crpyt a coupla times at least..
Yeah, the local Vicar (or someone in a dog collar)used to walk around with a brown paper bag full of magic mushrooms all night...and Suzie Creamcheese did the lights/ran the night/had a problem with our manager as they'd grown up together..
Did you know Gus? Would always have a go on any drum kits set up there....
Don't know Winstons I'm afraid but our paths surely crossed Sir...
And that night in Leicester Sq run by The Dream Maker...a bit Gothy but a lovely fella from Southend I think?
The vicar was either David Diamond. (He would occasionally pay us a visit at our house and by the time that he had gone the drinks cabinet would be half empty).
Or it could have been Father Harry Potter (I kid you not).
I remember Gus. He would show up at a music venue at The United Friends just over the road from The Crypt.
I seem to recall that the fella was a legit religious bloke...so God only knows (no pun intended)..
Saw Psychedelic Sean too at that easter Moddy thing..he's not changed a bit...now looking quite 70s with a bob..
Heard Gus had fallen on very bad times so sad stuff indeed if true...
Anyways - I've digressed too much..
Here's Dantalion's Chariot (with a very young Andy Summers) and another ditty I'll always associate with the time:
