...perhaps coupled with the fact everything you wear is generally very trim and neat.
I like it. As with OCBD yesterday, I like seeing posters doing something different. I find it very easy to slip into a routine.

Most of my jacket lapels and ties are slim. But not all. Sometimes I may need to look like I own clothes made after 1968. In this case, 1973. I was afraid to show my mutton chops and thick mustache I put on to complete the look.

Now that I think about it, were the traditional Ivy shops - Brooks, Press, Andover Shop, etc., immune to the mid-century skinny lapel trend? I know I've seen some '70s era Brooks and Press jackets with very wide lapels, but not any, that I recall, with the slim lapel.
