WM, you might have created a first for this site; a thread which, however unwittingly, seems to have morphed into an (inaugural?) appreciation of good-looking Ivy guys for once.
I just can't believe that at one point you could walk onto a campus and ALL the students were dressed like this. Now mature adults can't even be bothered to tuck in their shirt or wear a tie. We've come a long way!!
Worried Man, I didn't recognize you! I looked at that avatar and thought- who is this drunkard!?
Thank you. These are just fantastic! Wish they were scanned.
You could reprint this stuff, just as good as 'Take Ivy'.
They are not old enough to be public domain...I think...and the people depicted didn't give consent to other uses and could have a field day with you making money off them and their styles.
Jdemy I think you are correct. Someone could contact the school and try to get the contacts and consent that way. I wonder what the public domain would be for something like this? Some of these are almost 50 years old but PD maybe 75 years?
I have a little bit of experience with this stuff- rights of passersby in film shoots and release forms for appearances in films and such- and I would say this would be the worst nightmare you ever stepped into.
thanks again WM, you're a stah ....
... love this bounty ...
... all of it is educational and delightful ... the very short buttondown collar, Beatle boots, frat football jersey and moronic hand-scrawled frat cowboy hat, very skinny striped repp tie,
true three-button sport coat with swelled edges, v-neck sweaters, cardigans, a true straight-hanging sack coat, the cardigan with elbow patches, brunette girl in sweater with beautiful uplifting physique, the beehived blondes, medallion print buttondown collar shirt, plain-point collars, girl with madras hairband and her own candy-striped ocbd, fine natural shouldered madras sport coat, skinny repp tie guy holding large paper cup from the Varsity (where every school field trip seemed to end up even when you got to Tech), khaki golf jacket with tab-collar shirt and skinny tie, true three-button seersucker sport coat, Keds, cute girl in striped tee with the Betty Rubble miniskirt, even a slovenly wrecked kid with frat t-shirt, rolled khaki and dirty socks ... ancient Burroughs computer! All those black-framed eyeglasses!
Worried man excellent and thanks for taking the time out to upload these (I know it’s not an easy task for you).
Jez I think these images are actually in the public domain. If you go to Georgia Tech.s website you can download
All archive copies of the Blueprint back to the year dot (huge PDF’s).
Maybe the first time in history that people get drooling about tech guys.
When I was in uni, the engineers always were a bit made fun of.
Outstanding - thanks Topstitcher
Glad you guys enjoy the shots!
I knew it: WM is yet another one of Jim's identities.
I'm Jim's puppet.

I'm grateful for Stanshall's astute observations and contributions to this thread. Really bolsters the whole point.
