ps - you need to get yourself a thinner leather belt though!

that's too flash for an ivy draped hatchet man. you need a proper 1 inch horseshoe strap so that you can hand it to 'em on the hush and lam out without that rock of gibraltar anchored to your waist!

It almost looks tailormade. Are the trousers cuffed?

Agreed.  Strangely enough, I even like the fact that your shirt is untucked.  The whole look just works for the setting.

And thanks for all the compliments gentlemen.

Oliver, the pants aren't cuffed.  And if I recall, the only alteration I had done to that suit was shortening the hem a bit.  No tapering or anything.  The fit was uncanny.  It was almost like it was made just for me.  If I ever commission a suit, I'll probably use this one as a template for the tailor, as it has good details like swelled seems throughout and a hook vent, perfect rise, perfect taper.  It has an interesting lining too, which I'll have to photo sometime - a black background with wild, random light grey lines darting everywhere.

And I'll reserve a full review of the Pat Metheny Unity Band.  I'm just not a fan of contemporary fusion, or whatever they call it these days... crossover jazz?  Antonio Sanchez's drumming was very tasteful, but he didn't have any solos that made my jaw drop.  And while the musicians are pretty much untouchable, the music's just too damn clean and just lacks attitude.

And out of the whole entire auditorium, I was the ONLY guy in a suit!!!  No joke there.  Figures.....

Re: Ivy League style for today

Re the latter part of WMs mail, its a sad state the world is in and i experienced the very same thing myself last night.

I treated Mrs Armchaired to a belated VD meal (yes i have caught it too) at a very nice local Chinese restaurant
I felt like an alien i wore a Brooks brothers tweed jacket, my obligatory makers some flannels and loafers.

Guys were coming in with families and friends (i kid you not) in track suits and woolly hats.
These people didn't look sports casual, they looked like they were living on the streets.
Standards are dispearing down the drain with every month that passes.
