If I ever start a late '60s style blues rock band or psychedelic band, or maybe a '70s style prog rock band, my nomination for the name is Three Ply Beard.

Hahahaha, was just about to post that Pike Brothers one myself.
€229 seems pretty good for something they say is so thick that it nearly makes this garment a winter jacket!

Charles Tyrwhitt seems to be one of the few places of interest for my lunchtime wanderings. Here is a nice quality cable knit shawl neck lambswool cardi for 70 quid that I had a look at today - recommended.

Available in navy blue too.
When and where do you all typically wear these bad boys? Do you ever wear them beyond the porch of your home?
I've got a cotton shawl cardigan but these days I always talk myself out of wearing it in public, even on weekends. I've become too used to all the pockets in my sport coat.
A bit 'nosebleed altitude' price-wise, but this O'connells 12 ply cashmere looks the biz...

That OC's is beautiful. Too bad that's like half a year's pay for me.

LE has one for $129. Cotton cable knit. I don't like it.
I didn't realize there was a 12 ply! I'm fairly certain I've got the 8 and I can't imagine it being any more chunky! That thing is super thick and plush. I wish I hadn't seen the driftwood color though because I'm tempted to but it now! Can someone link to the 12 ply?
Just seen it and no wonder, it's cashmere! Looks beautiful but stupid price for a cardi. I'd like to check it out in person though, just for fun. I need to make. Pilgrimage to Buffalo, NY one of these days.
Not to be too sadistic but it's the very best shawl cardi I've ever had the pleasure of wearing Andy!
I'd offer to proxy them but I'm gone in a weeks time for the better part of 2 months. I highly recommend them though. They're luxuriously soft and chunky as hell. More outerwear than sweater really. I use casually it in place of my overcoat which I typically break out only at night. It's great in the winter months when I'm down by the water where the winds kick around pretty harshly. And it looks dead cool too with a solid oc button down and shades!
