Haha.  I've had similar experiences.  Like the time a man of about 70 stopped to comment on my clothes and took particular note of my Weejuns.  "I used to wear clothes just like that when I was your age.  Same shoes too.  But we used to do this..."  He then takes two pennies out of his pocket and places them in the slots of my Weejuns.  HAHA!!
