The jacket Fitzgerald is wearing isnt the same, the top button comes in under the breast pocket by about the distance the brooks one is over it
Yes,but i think is an American sack coat.
The fitz jacket hasnt even got widely spaced buttons?
Not to my eye. Closer spacing than the brooks example for sure.
They're close too they just starting higher???
I agree the spacing on the first jacket is mental but the other ones you've posted aren't really the same. I know a three button hacking jacket would traditionally allow for close high button stance for riding a horse I wonder if the use away from equestrian pursuits allowed for less practical design. But thats just me guessing
Sorry ive just seen the date of the first one if that Brooks is late sixties then your probably getting that longer Cardin silhouette coming into fashion youll see a lot of jackets giving a much morw tubular look. Although im not sure he ever had spacing like that his jackets certainly gave a similar long edwardian look
The cloth not seems very 1940s..But maybe Zach could help.
True, the cloth wouldn't say 40s... Hm.
I've seen the "above-breast-pocket" stance on brooks suits and jackets from the very late 1960s-early 1970s.
Is that a slightly flared sleeve too?
