Tonanly the socks work perfectly but I think a different colour that was less contrasting to the trousers and the shoes and that didnt match the jacket would work better. Saying that I still like it it wouldn't have the dandy factor if you did change it.

'Tis.

Love that jacket Billax.  I'll have to agree with Bop on the socks.  But I'm pretty much Mr. Unadventurous when it comes to socks.

Ox - check, Sancho - check, YoungIvy - check.

Shoobster, those are some gorgeous shoes.  Some real man shoes there.  I'm not big into tassel loafers, but these are growing on me.  They just make the casual loafer a tad bit more casual.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Just catching up with the last several pages of this thread as I was away last week, and some great stuff has been posted.

I particularly like Sancho's youthful look, Woolster's untucked shirt tails (all of Woolster's looks actually, as usual), and Billax's white wingtip getup, which is sensational.

Really digging all your stuff too Captain, and I'm with you on the poker chips. I like 'em more since that analogy was made!

Oh and Billax, that seersucker shirt is beautiful, I would wear it all the time if I was lucky enough to own one.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Yep Mercer/Stan...they're different ones to the avatar and a darker brown indeed... avatar are the classic russet colour and from last century...with the way better softer leather tops...none of this padded rubbish that's crept into play over the last 10 years or so... the ones shown today are about 8-10 years old I reckon..
Whilst I love my RWs...I'm not a vibram sole fan at all and remain LOYAL to the supersole... sadly they only seem to be popular this side of the pond..
I know they've introduced the russet and black in this style again in Europe when they had officially scrapped them a few years back so some bonus at least...
I have a fair few pairs of these on the go as basically...they last...and last...and also...I lived in fear of them disappearing years back ha ha...
I've them in black and tan too for the record!
2 pairs in boxes still too....desperate...I KNOW!!!
I could honestly wear these every day & all year round...
