Re: Tech Ivy

Good Tech memorabilia Wooly.  There are ravenous Tech fans out there that eat that stuff up.

Re: Tech Ivy

1969 Blueprint:

The students' hair is still pretty normal and short during the 1968-69 school year at Georgia Tech.

Post 260:

We see a kid in Baracuta-style windbreaker, buttondown collar graph check shirt over white t-shirt, close-fitting tapered slacks ... behind him is a Buick station wagon ....

Next up is a kid with good  hair in an unusual long shawl collar 3/4-length coat which appears to be lined in Persian lamb, worn over a white OCBD with great collar roll, dark v-neck sweater, narrow slash-pocket slacks with cuffs, highwater style, some kind of tan suede crepe-soled shoes ....

Parking lot features VW bus, VW Bug with odd vinyl top, Buick, Chrysler, Chevrolet, Dodge Coronet .....

Post 261:

Very casual look on student with brogued tassel loafers, worn without socks, bootcut jeans, white ocbd with good roll ....

Student striding across campus in a 3/4-length hooded coat in a camel color, dark slacks, attache case ....

Pair of students studying, one in medium-wale corduroy sport coat with white ocbd, nice roll, while his neighbor wears a dark poplin single-breasted raincoat, white ocbd, dark tie, thick black plastic specs ....

Three kids by the copying machine, variously sporting white jeans, blue jeans, dark trousers ......

Post 262:

Kid with good haircut figures out a problem while wearing a nice white ocbd, outstanding roll again, expandable wristwatch bracelet ... to the left is a candy-striped ocbd with pocket ... that's all that can be seen .....

We see a kid from the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity in a short-sleeved frat jersey, blue jeans, dark suede Clark's desert boots, no socks!  Black plastic eyeglasses, long sideburns .... he's studying while his clothes are in the washing machine .... box of Tide by his side .....

Architecture student in large graph-checked short-sleeved shirt, big class ring, white rubber eraser, pencil, wristwatch with expandable metal bracelet  .... working on some little designs .....

Black student in Georgia Tech logo windbreaker wears a great ocbd untucked, very modern look, over white undershirt, dark thin slacks, carries an attache case ... in the background can be seen a kid in a short car coat and extreme highwater chinos .....

Post 272:

Great shot of stylish kid in his knit ski cap, short single-breasted khaki poplin raincoat with adjustable sleeve tabs, hands jammed into pockets, khaki chinos worn short, thin wool socks, penny loafers .....

Man in rocking chair wears loafers, dark poplin raincoat, dark trousers ..... in the distance is a kid in an ocbd and a repp tie .....

Guy looks away from the camera, wears a nice 3/2 tweedy sack sport coat with narrow lapels, buttoned-up lisle polo shirt, leather belt, wristwatch, worsted trousers cuffed and worn short, suede desert boots ....

Fellow in light v-neck sweater, dark shirt, cuffed glen-plaid trousers worn much too short, Alden-style tassel loafers .....

Post 273:

Guy in lambswool v-neck saddle-shoulder sweater over dark polo shirt, narrow, cuffed flannel trousers, black-and-white saddle oxfords, clutching books and umbrella .....

Blonde gal with ironed pageboy hair and cute face though pug-nosed wears a totally unfortunate outfit that makes her look like Carol Brady .... the immense collar, the dorky sleeveless cardigan sweater, the matronly plaid pants .... but none of that matters a bit does it???  Because you would.

Smoldering look from the brunette Erin Fleming lookalike by the tree .....

Miss Blueprint ... cavorts in a field, shows affection to a horse, sits on the fence ... she's very blonde and she wears her silk scarf well ......

Thanks for this Stan ,your commentary always enhances the experience for me.

"I know you have a lot going on WM so  i guess i should show  a little patience for "57".

I don't want to sound ungrateful but "come on for F++k sake and pull your finger out"!!!

Haha.  '57 is shaping up to be a good year.  I'm mining the images.  Already up to about 30 images and I'm maybe half way through the book.  Poor Stan has his work cut out.

Re: Tech Ivy

My dad left his number, written on a Varsity napkin, on my mother's car at the Varsity, late 1962.  The rest is history.  Thank you Varsity!

Re: Tech Ivy

Some more Tech history that may be of interest in this list of alumni...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Georgia_Institute_of_Technology_alumni

Includes "Grunt" from G.I. Joe and Marvel character Mockingbird as a few of the fictional alumni.
