A one-nil crushing!
Beating West Ham is like winning the Special Olympics.
I read this in a tabloid earlier and it sums up my opinion of our north London rivals.
Rio played in Rio, Valencia played in Valencia but Danny Shittu played for Spurs.
The Prem will be coming back up to the Northwest again...where it belongs.
We will, however, let the Londoners sniff it for a while...then we'll break their hearts.
Bah.
Liverpool are historic. But they are not gonna be there this time. They haven't really replaced Suarez, so they either need to do that or get a better defense. Man U are going to suck again, which is so awesome I'm smiling while I type this. So basically it's Man City's Mid Eastern money versus Chelsea's Russian money.
I wouldn't bet against Jose this year.
We'll see....

^ I appreciate the background in Manchester, never have had the occasion to be there.
But my larger point is that Bryan is a life long professional with no relation to the working class whatsoever and is flaming douche hipster. He is unfortunately very representative of the Liverpool US fan base. Arsenal as well.

You actually hit the nail on the head. And I think you can be remote and have basically any reason for following a sports team. Your reason for the Niners is just as good as mine for liking Chelsea (my brother was a fan). Just be honest about it.
I would posit being pissed is probably the best way to have a conversation about sports teams to tell you the truth.
Yeah, I sent him a PM, but haven't heard back. Hope he's not taking it too bad!
Liverpool were lucky to get all the points yesterday. Southampton outplayed them for much of the time and created more chances, despite having sold three of their best players to Liverpool for £49m before the season.
