Thee only excitement back then was when the big Studio One was being used...for film scores and the like....
I actually got on very well with a couple of the older classical guys there of all people.... they probably called me a complete Gippo Oik behind my back of course.... and one of em who had been in the Navy was clearly trying to get into Thee Captain's undercarriage I believe but to no avail...he was called The Rear Admiral...for obvious reasons..
I was on talking terms with Kate Bush at the time mind...she used to borrow my Zippo all the time...but we fell out when I gatecrashed her album launch...saw Siouxsie Sioux for some banter... was rude to Kiri Te Kanawa and her vile pins... thought David Gilmour & his red ferrari or whatever it was, to be a total wanker...
New Model Army were a lot of fun... and as I say sat around to Quicksilver Messenger Service & the like being digitalized was fine by me..
Anyone remember that band Propaganda?
They were "in the studio" when I started there ...and no further down the line when I left...girl was cute mind..
^ hahaha Propaganda - the ZTT band that time forgot -
and the cute one that'd be Claudia methinks.
I've recorded strings in Studio 1 a few times, a great sounding room but probably the sweatiest control room in town.
Ah Claudia...I've just googled her....it's all very hazey now of course...
Propaganda??? Love 'P-machinery' and 'Duel' - the women weren't too shabby either - not so much the blokes. Thought Claudia Brucken and Suzanne Frietag were quite tasty in a teutonic dominatrix sort of way .... don't suppose you have any polaroids cap?
Oh cap, thou art a tease !!! 'a Dominatrix from Dusseldorf' ? Sounds like a poem by John Cooper Clarke .....
