Anyone seen these in the flesh? Look pretty good in the pics. Dunno how much they're selling for.

If they are anything like the buckle-back flannels I bought (in Japan about 4 years ago), they should be very decent.
It's the grandson of the original owner/tailor that has championed the idea of making 'new vintage' gear in addition to their regular more mainstream tailoring options
Their website isn't great but worth a look, they've been making stuff for years and have lots of old patterns that can get resurrected for a real vintage look, quality isn't quite up with TailorCaid but a definite notch above most stuff at the price ...

Does TC offer any readywear though beyond some shirts and accessories? I was under the impression it was all bespoke or MTM service.
TC had some shirts RTW and some ties + accessories but no tailoring 'off the peg' on my only visit ( but that was 4 years ago).
Did get to try on an amazing sports-coat, which fitted like a glove even tho' it was for someone else, but got very depressed when I realised how much extra it would cost in flights and accom. to get one made for myself
I did get a TC paisley tie. I too tried on lots of stuff that was for others. My body type wasn't perhaps the same as the normal Japanese body type. Cough cough.
They have a big archive from what I could see but I wasn't clear if some of the vintage stuff was for sale or not. I sort of got the idea there's a bit of a network around them and possibly vintage gets swapped or bought and sold. There's certainly a strong network of Ivy/Trad clubs/societies around in Japan. So I suspect a strong market and swap for vintage.
There's a few rtw or mtm outfits around for trad/ivy not as spiffy as TC. Might be worth checking out. Have you thought of booking into TC day 1 and seeing if you could get a basted fit by end of trip?
That super high gorge man.... That irks me a bit. Looks totally solid elsewhere. I'd still gladly wear it.

The blazer on their site looks great. A lot triple patch blazers nowadays place the chest pocket way too high in my opinion.
Just looked at it on the Facebook page. Ignore the comment above. It is far too high as well and that third button...wow! It is almost a throat latch!

Haha. The button stance does seem rather high, but I'd need to try it on before really making an assessment on that.
Short cut and pinched waist from what I've heard.
I have indeed seen them in the flesh, and they were one of the high points of my recent visit. However I didn't give them a proper once over or try any on, as I knew I wasn't going to buy one, due to a number of reasons. (One being that I'm not buying anything full price or even on the cheap nowadays unless I really like it, and for one thing the lapels, although kosher mid to late 60s, are a tad too narrow for my tastes.)
So really all I can say is that at first glance they definitely look pretty decent. Indeed if they'd been in existence a few years ago when I had more money and less tweeds, I doubt I would have hesitated.
650 quid is a lot, as at the current exchange rate you could get one mtm from Boston for the same price. If you are in Japan etc. Actually I saw these jackets in John Simons last week, but it seems that they are only doing them in small-medium sizes.
Depends on the cut and quality I suppose, it's worth investing if you're going to get decades of wear out of it. Would have to check out in person, the Japanese sizes tend to be smaller in my experience.
I would also get rid of the gold buttons.

I can't imagine anyone buying a new blazer nowadays anyway, except perhaps an ancient and rich American, whose vintage Brooks blazer has finally disintegrated. But in the UK? I assume there must be a market, as JS produced some a few years ago too, but I wonder if any of those who do buy them wear them with ivy kit. As part of a more contemporary look they probably lose their stuffy etc connotations I suppose (by a more contemporary look I mean low rise trousers and other crap).
Good luck to them anyway, but I really can't imagine anyone on here buying one. I've seen vintage Brooks and Chipp blazers in my size and resisted, and they were for around a quarter of the JS Boston price. I just didn't think I'd ever get around to wearing them.
