Looks like 50's to me (or late 40's), when Rayon was popular in men's clothing. It had been used in women's clothing before that-
Just heard back from Brooks Brothers. The tie's pattern dates back to the 1930s, however this one was made between 1941-45 as the fabric was switched from silk to rayon during WWII.
Mystery solved.
