Fair enough!
Not too long ago, I treated myself to an old BB tweed I found for a song on Ebay. It's a sack, in great shape, and with a great unique plaid to boot. It was advertised as a 2-button and I was hoping it was another ignorant seller not noticing the third button under the lapel. To my surprise, it was a true 2-button even though every other feature was quintessential Ivy!
I suppose if nothing else, that's an example of Ivy style being accessible even to folks who don't favor the standard 3/2.
Haha. I used to pay no mind to bumper stickers, but they really have started bothering me lately in my old age.
Tattersalls... just too UKIP
^
Awwww boo!
I never imagined I'd wear a tasseled loafer, but found some nice old USA tasseled Weejuns and thought I'd give em a try. I must say, I'm not completely sold on them, but they do have a certain appeal as a very casual loafer. The tassel is indeed a fussy little embellishment, and such gimmicks usually get a thumbs down from me. I do have contempt for the kilted loafer, especially when they also have tassels.
I love a tasseled loafer. It's like wearing a couple big fat middle fingers on your feet!
Though I'm with WM, I can't do the kilted variety.
What about tassels on your nipples?
I leave that to the strippers.
Not a fan of tassle loafers. My dad used to wear 'em and they always looked square to me. I think they go over more on the other side of the pond; I see the mods are more partial to 'em. They're a bit too dainty and fussy for my taste.
I don't like Pendletons or Harringtons or skinny ties or shoes with fat crepe soles. I'm not a massive fan of pea coats either.
Kilties are utter filth - and not in a good way.
I have 2 pair of tassel, one a la Brooks Brothers in a rich burgundy from Paul Smith, made in Northampton, but not sure by who, and the previous mentioned weekuns, also a very solid shoe with the double sole and full leather sole and heal. I think the shape of the loafer makes a big difference when it comes to the tassel.
Also, Tattersalls as wisely put my MCM - having grown up in the country I cannot get past the Game Keeper connotations, no matter the colour I just can't see myself wearing one.
I don't own a single bow tie.
Bow ties and tattersalls are both great!
Also, I've never made any campus connection with pea coats... aren't those typically an economic postwar UK thing?

By jiggery, there’s an awful lot I cannae stand about ivy, 327 things to be precise… 254 of which have ended up being resolved by some tremendous bouts of Grecian Wrestling circa 700 B.C. , 253 of which I won…my one defeat being a dubious one tbh, beaten by Philthy Phil the Greek who feigned injury and made me go easy on him and then got me in the infamous Delphi Nutclamp, that quite frankly…I defy ANY MAN to get out of……but I digress…. And tbh…I’m afraid I don’t have the time right now… and I’m not here to make grown men cry am I? …. For this, TALK IVY is an oasis of love, peace n harmony…
And besides…I have to get to the rub-a-dub…
As thee ole saying goes…”One man's meat is … of no interest to me quite frankly…”
pass that jazz ciggy cap'n I want some of what you got...
Hahaha... "Jazz ciggy"
