Very fine. Sort of a tasteful, understated tortoiseshell.
^ Nice Colin! Are you going to get them made up into prescription specs - or just glass if you don't need them?
I'll wait til the old 20/20s start to wander (actually like the dentist, probably should get them checked out).
If I need glasses I'll get prescriptions put in. If not I'll play the waiting game - they stayed suitably in fashion in Scotland for all those years, I'm sure they can wait a few more.
I went for years not knowing I was in need of glasses.
HA!
That's a belter Cap'n - I have a modern YMC version. Love the pea coat with a shawl collar - tickles my tonsils too.
Beautiful shoes.
Yes, and as you can see on the insole "A man's shoe". That's right I'm a MAN!
Do Hanover have a good rep. for quality? I know they do (or did?) a lot of Ivy staples.
Yes. Their older shoes were of a high quality. I'd say on par with Florsheim. The pairs I have are very well-made, substantial shoes. But just like with Florsheim, I have seen some not-so-nice Hannies, probably from the later years of their production.
Nice Harpo - I need to take my Imperials for new heals and also see if they can repair the toe - don't really want a full resole.
Scored another pair of playboys at the weekend in snuff, they'll go to the bottom of the pile until they are required, have 4 pairs on the go
so these are for down the line when I need to start again, but 4 years in and my current ones are just getting nicely broken in.
That's what i'm hoping Harpo - a real heavy number for those freezing cold nights stumbling back from the pub.
Got my eye on some Hanover shoes too, but only if they stay at a price I can justify, those longwings are stunning.
I think it's actually red and white. Nice and sporty.
HA. Nice gingham! I recently got the exact same shirt! One day we shall meet up and wear the exact same outfit!
