I received new swatches in the mail yesterday, and they all look really good. I'm particularly fond of the "bold British navy check", or something along those lines.
Looks like they have some competition:

Surely just a matter of time before someone on here and/or AAAT invests and shares their experience. Personally I have so many shirts nowadays that I very much doubt I'll ever buy a new one again. (With the possible exception of half sleeves, which I have far less of. Mercer half sleeves are superb.)
Dammit Yuca. As soon as I saw that OCOCBD I started twitching. I guess, thankfully, I'm a bit skint at the moment. But I guess it's inevitable I'll procure one of those eventually.
I note that Muffy didn't mention in her piece on Mercer that Mercer has relocated from Yarmouth, Maine, to Bozeman, Montana, which somehow just seems like a less "tradly" or "preppy" locale for such an operation. I just got off the phone with David Mercer. I should probably have asked him if they are going to add denim, snap-button shirts and such to their line. What a delightful fellow he is! Since discovering Mercer almost three years ago, all my new shirts have come from Mercer.
As to O'Connell's being competition to Mercer, their shirts are $20 more than their equivalents from Mercer. I wonder if there is anything about them that warrants the higher price tag.
The one thing I dislike about Muffy's style of prose, is that it all seems to me a quest to be prim and proper through the purchasing of clothes. This piece read like an ad written by some hack with little interest in the subject, a bit disappointing considering the almost legendry status that Mercer have achieved.
Just saying by the way.
There is currently a hate campaign against Muffy on a site called gomi.com in which it is suggested that she has falsified her WASPy New England heritage for the purposes of promoting her blog. This under discussion in the comments section of this Ivy Style post:

I like the photography on her site but it seems obvious that much of the blog is thinly disguised advertising and product promotion.
A hate campaign is rather nasty, she may have jazzed-up her ancestory, but I wouldn't get too excited about that. Not enough to go on a mission to expose someone.
This whole Muffygate cause celeb seems to involve her husband having a sprinkling of Polish Blood to compliment his Wasp roots.
Its pathetic and just shows what nasty little buggers congregate on these inter-web's.
America is a melting pot and like the UK i would doubt there is anyone who is a pure blood Anglo Saxon anywhere. That ethnicity were only a ruling elite in England in the first place. The likely-hood is most of the passengers of the mayflower had a very mixed genetic background anyway.
Don't listen to the haters Mrs Aldrich.
her father took some fine photos and wore the J. Press well.
she seems to be a good gardener which is a major plus in my book ......

Good to know captainpreppy. Thanks.
Seen various bits about button downs & costs….level of quality… (goes into Yul Brynner mode) et cetera et cetera et cetera….
Has anyone on here done a breakdown by cost of what’s actually out there today and the price comparisons….just with the Fancy Ones of course here?
Shipping costs are a major issue too, naturally, but it’d be a v useful tool to many on here I’d wager…particularly those dabbling for the first time & unsure of where to tread initially… but who want to go for it and get summat classy…
I’d love to help out here of course and present you with a souvenir wall chart and a POWERPOINT PRESENTATION lasting at least 2 hours…..but my interest isn’t sufficient enough in the field I’m afraid…
I'm still wading through the dense text of the comments on Chenner's website - somethin' bout licensed gynaecologists, a Mr Rowe fighting for the honour of Muffy, Chenner's playing the investigative journalist just looking for the truth goddamit - and I'm still only at the half way mark. I never went to that gomi site though.
Someone's guilty of something, but exactly who?
I don't know. I saw how many comments there were and my eyes just glazed over.
I wouldn't climb over Muffy to get to you Yuca.
Although she ain't my type, the feeling is mutual.
