I agree, these guys were being a bit harsh, but it is true. If you are not posting ivy style clothes, why bother posting in this thread? Why not post on other forums when you are wearing different clothes, then post here if you are wearing something that is ivy-styled, that we can all appreciate?
Oh, goodness... what's going on?
I am still here because I have some kind of disorder I suppose (and because of Liam, Woof, Stanshall...
)
Oh, well, Yuca - don't be fooled, I still have the bright and lucid acid house Fair Isle sweater (and I still wear it
)
All I can say is... no problem with boots. Tommy Lee Jones "The Fugitive" style
Whenever I am going slightly out of the Ivy spectrum myself, I only post stuff that could have been worn on Giuseppe's "An Affordable Wardrobe" or on Zach's "The Suit Room". Typical New England stuff, that is very often pretty Brit-infused. Or I am going the Captain's route with a bit of workwear thrown in. I guess all that is more to the forum's taste. But what the heck...
The best way to signalise that an outfit isn't to my or the overall forum's taste is NOT to comment on it. IMO. It isn't funny to post and get no comments

I've seen loads of decent outfits and not commented. Off the top of my head, 99% of Patrick's, WM's and Harpo's. If I commented on all of those they might think I was in love with them. (Sorry to disappoint the aforementioned but none of them are good enough for me from a romantic perspective.)
You bastard.
Have a good cry and you'll feel a lot better.

Like I said to Mercer after his original boot post: I have no beef with him or his style per se, and I probably wouldn't even bat an eye at the boots if I saw him in person, out on the street. Would I like them? No. But it's just that he feels the need to repeatedly post them on an Ivy League clothing forum that brings them under scrutiny. And Mercer, Ivy isn't necessarily a brand-centered style. It is to an extent, but thinking an item is Ivy based on the maker is erroneous, and especially at this point, it can lead you down a treacherous path. It's about the look and the style and the details.
It's a bit nippy out and off for a pint by the Thames- so layering up is on the cards,
Modern Weejuns, 'winterised' with a Topy'd sole and sheepskin insoles.
M+S thermal argyle socks, crappy colour combination but very toasty.
Vintage Levis bedford 5-pockets, navy (late 60's model as they are 'rivetless' at the pocket corners).
Goodwear white crew-neck tee.
JSA Madras button-down.
Uniqlo sweatshirt, navy.
Pendleton 'black-watch' board shirt.
North Face 'trapper' hat, Elmer Fudd stylee
and
A K-Way packable kagoule , 'cos it looks like it might piss down later.
On the portable music player:
The Necks - Hanging Garden
Cerrone - Supernature
Talking Heads - Fear of Music
Deus - The Ideal Crash
^ Cheers fellas,
Following a couple of months in black clothes and steel-toe boots (for work), it's nice to dive into my wardrobe again.
In the continued absence of a decent stills camera (I spent all my 2014 AV budget on Go-Pro video cameras instead),
I'll have to stick with the detailed written descriptions for now.
