I often look back through said topic and see so many well dressed members who no longer seem to post on here
My personal fave was 1966....................anyone know him, what he's up to, is he still rocking the style
So who's yours?
as an aside, is there anyway to search a members posts by the members user id?
1966 was good wasn't he? So was Brownshoe. Henry the Fitzgerald shirt man used to post some nice looks as well, I can't remember what his moniker was, he just pops up now to tell us when he's made some more shirts to sell, not that that's a problem.
Still we've got great new young operators coming on stream all the time, Sancho and Jack for example.
The most consistent ILSFT contributor has to be Patrick. I like the natural, non contrived nature of his outfits.... real working life traditional American style in action. Patrick I hereby nominate you for the Talk Ivy Long Service and Good Conduct medal.
I second that..
Personally I think brownshoe has been the best example.. I like the new chap from cambridge too..
Heikki too, can't forget his influence on me from the mod culture days...Jim likes to think it was him that got people over here..for me it was actually seeing Heikki's outfits.

I only 'discovered' Jim on arrival! haha.
Brownshoe was good. I really liked some of Get Smart's hard looks too. Very into the Americana and jeans thing. Patrick looks like he's been wearing the clothes since he came out of the womb, and I love it.
Who was the moddy/italian vespa guy? He always looked really cool.
That was Daniele... he's a cool cat and pops in every now and again. For my money, 1966 had the look down. I really dug his style.
Yes. Daniele. 1966 did, and I'm sure still does, have a great, cohesive style.
Staceyboy was a dude, and my Welsh brother.
Ble wyt ti nawr, Staceyboy?
1966. a stylish chap w/ good writing on her. very much so.
brownshoe, great style. very.
daniele / get smart / soggy / alex roest - great pictorial and verbal input from all, i salute thee.
moose maclennan - still here but not so active these days?
bop, thanks for the kind words. i think i came here because of jim's agitation! so long ago and now i'm drunkish, can't remember exactly.
patrick keeps on keepin on. which is great. i appreciate a lot.
Heck, how long has Bop been posting on here? He's operated under various names also.
Ta Heikki!
My votes: Brownshoe for classic, and the true out-of-the-box thinkers 1966 for the visuals, Jesmond for the text.
All of the above, 1966 was always a fave of mine and Brownshoe had it going on.
I think 1966 is too busy revamping vintage sport bikes.
Brownshoe was something else, could only imagine him being a cartoonist for Marvel or something.
The thing that interests me most about brownshoe is if he's left ivy behind or not...and if he has what style has he turned to. What is the logical progression from Ivy perfection?
Liam found Brownshoe online in the real world a couple of years ago.
I am not going to disclose details here as that would be an invasion of privacy and unfair.
He still sports the look though when i saw what the wee man had found.
Alex Roest was also very much into Lacoste shirts, for good or bad. I was meant to meet up with him the Pavlov bar, but I ended up being otherwise engaged.
I think you will find, the infamous spat, on a Saturday afternoon, was between my goodself and Thee Beatnik. It was rather intense, and the moderators deleted the whole engagement and put a ring around Beatnik's IP addresses and known proxies. Still, it was the wild west and frontier then, the end of it at least. He may well have been the last gunslinger in town. Perhaps he asked me to manage him, or was that some boy band, my memory fades......

Over on The Wardrobe, Maximilien Robespierre was one cool, jazz infused and whisky drinking dude, I agreed with everything he posted, I assumed we were related somehow, way back from the time of the potato famine. His lot made it to Californ.i.a and mine to Liverpool docks.

Back during my life before the forum. I wonder what I was even doing back then in my spare time. Reading? Listening to music? Daydreaming about vintage drum sets? I can't even recall....
