" I wish that real estate were cheaper and clothes were more expensive."
Words to live by.
Can anyone cut n paste this perchance for those of us who work in a office run my numpties?
Your'e a star SOS..will get busy..
Excellent!
Yep - I just don't understand how people want to fanny around with a perfectly good item..tweak it...adjust the cut/fit and remove the quality from the garment...but Brooks Brothers... is truly woeful today...and LVC have got right on my thrupennies too in recent years...if you're gonna do a replica piece, do a replica piece..and maintain the classics!!
My only advice..if you truly find summat that ticks all yer boxes...stock up if possible...cos By Gawd...they'll Fuck with it over time and ruin it!!

honestly: she's stuck in an Annie Hall disaster mode, doesn't have a clue about how to dress, copied her act off Steven M. L. Aronson, and the sweaters she gave away were probably the best things she had going ....
she sounds like a typical Ask Andy fuddy duddy and although she's right about the decline of Brooks Brothers shirts I and everyone else on this forum have been saying the same thing for years already .....
also: she is in no position to criticize anybody else's face or looks
finally: walk shorts and Bermuda shorts are fully Ivy, the pics and the old catalogues don't lie, and nothing she says could ever impugn a key element of the summer Ivy look ....
for those who've lived in the city know full well the way Ivy people come stumbling out of their buildings into the sunlight on Saturday mornings in the summer dressed in ocbds, shorts and mocs and searching for restorative coffees, and carrying tote bags to the back of their Land Rovers and Land Cruisers and wagons before hitting the road .....
what should people wear to the park in the summer?
screw her looksist ukases
Yeah the Brooks comment is fair enough and she's entertaining enough in a Marc E Smith type ranting way -I'll give her that.
But I just don't see any style in what she wears. Isn't wearing clothes that fit your body an integral part of it ?
Oversizing everything and then just wearing that same costume every day to prove your comfort in your own style - that probably goes down well in the fashion world - those guys love designing complex clothes then trying to prove they themselves are actually too cool for that by having a personal "uniform" - black t shirt and jeans or something...
Annie Hall Disaster Mode is a great name for a band.
I liked her in her Ivy garb it suited her, but the english tailoring and shirts arent doing her any favours really. I think youre under a delusion if you think buying expensive beautiful clothes is enough and that just by wearing them youve achieved anything... her style is plain to the point of being very plain indeed, a bit like an MP with the dark suit, white shirt..and no tie... she might mistake it for refined minimalism...its not.. its plain...however I do agree with quite a few bits she has written and I wish her and Yuca a happy life together..

I'm too chivalrous to mention the age gap (I'm almost 44 and she's in her 60s) however the fact that she's a chain smoker means there's no possibility of romance. The search goes on.
Not quite the same appeal as Grace Kelly in a Brooks button-down, eh Yuca?
Well, and she really believes that tortoiseshell glasses are en vogue because of her? Jesus. Overrated article, overrated woman (well, no. Not as a journalist or author. But, stylewise for sure)
The question that remains is which genre
Hardcore bands all change p'ups in their SGs. Gibson p'ups don't cut it. They say.
Hardcore and Orange:

I have an Orange AD-30. Sounds like an AC-30 on steroids.
