great stuff AC, this looks exactly like a scene from my idealized version of The Man with the Golden Gun movie ....
yes the guy on the left has a good look but I understand his need for heavy shades .... by the way I wonder if Mickey Dora's look here influenced Mike Love at all ... maybe a smidge?
Did Mike Love even surf? Maybe he met Da Cat at one of the many parties Dora crashed? I wonder if he realised it wasn't a good idea to leave your wallet in the back of your white levis after they met as well?
I recognised the guy on the left but I can't remember who he is, I've had a few years out of surfing (Well I've not surfed since around 07 till lately) but got to know someone locally who does and I've totally got obsessed by it lately.
/\ I thought for a second that it was Jose Feliciano ....
and no, Mike Love didn't surf, he couldn't risk an injury that might have adversely affected his dancing.
Tommy, that shot of Dora with the too cool for school cardigan wearer is by Leroy Grannis. It's dated 1963. No mention of the cool cat anywhere I can find.
Ahh, I know Leroy Grannis's work as well, so should have recognised that!
I reckon it was you on one of your days out in the time machine.
Great shot!
I know you've an eye for a thigh!
Thought you'd like that one
Life, Oliver, is far too short not to wear these shirts.
^
I agree. I'd wear the heck out of that tropical drink shirt too, Moose.
Good Fortrel / Browning ad, Stan. I'd frame that.
HAHA!!
