Stan, you really know how to throw those painful punches right before lunch. Agonizing!
The music on those albums is pretty tasty too, Mr Stanshall.
As a long time lurker, I also want to say thanks - a year after it went up, admittedly - for the pic of the Tasty diner that you posted on this thread. I've great memories of that spot.
/\ Brother Jack does cook up some Hot Barbeque indeed, McGeorge ... I also really enjoy Butter for Yo Popcorn etc. ....!
re The Tasty, I'm glad you appreciated the shot ... I also have great memories, I was a frequent customer '77-'86 ... once upon a time there were very few places to get something to eat very late at night in the vicinity but The Tasty would be there for you ....
the counterman Raymond used to crack me up, he was a total joker ....
P.S. the P.F. Sloan and Les McCann shots you posted are very cool!
/\
Thanks Stan.
I've gleaned from your posts (and your deep knowledge) that you know the area - and the look - intimately. I spent a few periods of varying lengths there circa 79-88, a big part of my life. Have been back a couple of times in the last two years, was sorry to see the demise of many of the great diners in the vicinity - Elsie's, Lee's, even Tommy's Lunch. Then again, that's the fate has befallen many of the establishments in this thread.
Anyway, many thanks again for the great memories.
