My point is that any old chap once wore this stuff.
LHO wore it. JFK wore it.
Neither of them full time.
Wearing these clothes has only the significance you invest them with.
They ARE just clothes.
I love 'em.
LHO & JFK were both far from being WASPS...
I love all this weirdness - It doesn't exist in any other classical tailoring style. Any old bugger can wear 'Trad' Italian or 'Trad' English without onliners peeing their pants over the cosmic significance of it all...
But...
Enough.
I shall now buy a T-Shirt from Primark, go to Brown's for afternoon tea, engage in 'Marital Relations', and then have my afternoon nap.
Think of me.

JFK was the ultimate wasp, man.
I thought he was catholic?
He was. He was white, but he wasn't an Anglo-Saxon protestant. He was an Irish Catholic. That makes him a WIC. He wore WIC style.

He wasn't an Anglo Saxon either.
Ha! Tooo slow AC! You're a big fella, but you're out of shape!

Interesting thing about JFK was his wheat intolerance, Im actually about to explain the connection between the Irish and food intolerances. So keep your eyes peeled for that humdinger of a thread starting on the NSFW thread later today.
Hold on, so he was a Celiac White Irish Catholic? That makes him a CWIC. He wore CWIC style.
Celiac just sounds like you're trying to say Cilla Black too quickly or you're drunk and Scottish
I thought of putting something similar after rereading it.
These cats do: http://www.quora.com/What-is-the-clear-difference-between-tautology-and-pleonasm
I'm too pissed to care
And wrongly it seems! Have you heard of the IRA? Calling a catholic a protestant is like calling a jew a muslim. JFK was playing into that role though so with that point I think youre right..but not without his detractors he came from new money and didnt have the right bloodline..like weve mentioned before the Irish were not really tolerated by the British...to put it mildly

White And Super Privileged?
The Rockefellers are German Baptists. Vanderbilts are Dutch. And so on.
I'm more of a literal WASP than many WASPs. White, (redundantly) primarily of English and Scottish ancestry, and of the correct Protestant denomination, Episcopalian. While related to some people of interest (hardly unique), I am not a descendant of any fabulously wealthy WASP families (though related to many of them quite distantly).
There are a lot of non-WASP WASPs in western New England and the deep South, and a smattering across the midwest and west, though there is generally more mixing with other ethnic groups out there. The protoypical trailer park resident in Alabama is a WASP, by literal (but not cultural) definition.
WASP is not a term that can be taken to include all persons that fulfill the literal criteria. That's not its origin or its cultural meaning. It's a terrible confusion and mishmash, but we know what it means when we hear it. And when I hear it I equate it with discussions of race---something that people believe exists, but is in fact cultural, and I'd better keep my opinions to myself on topics on which everyone is cocksure.
