Absolutely right. I think the P90s have more character than PAFs. I have heard some putting in PAFs in their 330s and it kinda ruins the magic. Sounds more gritty. Though Bloomfield was great with the Tele also.

True... Casinos and 330s don't work with PAFs. I like them in 335s and I have a Greco Zemaitis with PAFs that is a different beast due to the aluminum top... The PAF style hummie in my Duesenberg Starplayer is also great, but all those guitars are brighter than Pauls... And at the end of the day I prefer a good P-90...
Getting it right with the Tele is quite a challenge ;-)
