Gentlemen,
If you go down the Vintage Highway and exhume some splendiferous delectations on that route, then no doubt you will have all been burdened by thee WHIFF of an item at times…a whiff so pungent that you may never have the pleasure to actually wear it cos…as thee header may indicate… THAT SHIT BE TOO NASTY?!?!?
Now knowing the incredible mind-set on here, you may well have yer own cures passed down from old Mad Aunt Ethel…or Bonkers Uncle Ezra…but if like me, you’ve a sieve for a memory, then you gonna need HELP….
Seems like ages ago now, but the splendid Mr Sam at Stylecreep gave me some of the Mr Black Garment Essentials Range some time back as a tester but looking there now, they seem to have come on in leaps n bounds?!?
I had the Denim wash stuff…and more pertinent to this discussion, the DENIM REFRESH spray…. All that there was at the time…
I’ve used it loads already…and not just on denim…pretty much EVERYTHING I can’t really wash gets the treatment…and it really is supoib!!
It totally transforms an item and makes it “YOURS”
Did the inside of a Barbour overnight and today it feels like I’ve been wearing it for yonks….
There may well be other products of a similar style of course – so would be glad to hear of ‘em…

Keep It Noice...Keep it FRAGRANT...
Yup, that Mr Black stuff is Su-Poib indeed.
Well...there's a Bank Holiday coming up...I may get creative...

Make Your Own Fabric Refresher Spray
If you’re interested in making your own version of those popular fabric sprays, give this recipe a try. Next to each ingredient, I’ve listed what its purpose is in this recipe.
1 cup of vinegar (deodorizer)
1 cup of water (carrier)
½ teaspoon of vegetable glycerin (helps emulsify the essential oils so they don’t just float on top of the mixture)
½ teaspoon of essential oil (use whichever scent you like best, or mix a couple of different oils to make your own custom blend)
Add all of the ingredients to a spray bottle, give it a shake to combine everything, then spray away. This works well as both a fabric refresher and as an all natural air freshener.
Oh who am I kidding....
1/2 water, 1/2 vodka. Indirect sunlight and a lovely breeze. This was my old de-funkying method.
Now almost all vintage items I just wash in water. Not washing stuff, I decided, was weird. The colours that came off vintage tweed jackets justified this decision.
Well ! That's Mr Blacks bank holiday weekend well and truly RUINED ! Did you know he took the chance of supporting his twelve kids and his missus by pinning EVERYTHING on the success of his proprietory anti stink spray ? DO YOU CARE SIR? Whats more - his poor widowed mother invested both the deeds to the family shack AND her life savings into the enterprise ..... and along comes Thee Captain and their dreams of a better life are dashed ! What are you Sir - some kind of COMMUNIST !!!!
Isn't this essentialy what Febreze does already?
Well, if it's of any consolation - I've got a bad back that is having the very same effect ....
HAHAHA
