IT'S A WHAT?!?!?!?
Yep. There's a big difference between an ex post facto attempt to systematically understand or explain an effect or process (whether it's music, or colour composition, etc.) and the emotions, inspiration, mood and sensibilities of the creator or the receiver. We are not clockwork oranges, man.
That's not to say that a systematic explanation of what went on can't add to appreciation or understanding - but it can be reductive, and does leave out a big chunk of what's important.

Bop stop staring at your colour wheel and get some balance, mate. You are starting to over analise. Remember the old adage KISS.

Sorry for the delay -
We're only just back from Paris after going off to buy amazing Franco-Ivy Shirts & Loafers...
- All the I-Chatter above will be dealt with, if worth dealing with, soon...
... I really ought to do you a Franco-Ivy update too....
I merely fear that you would immediately start to argue that France didn't exist... x

I used to belong to a few internet forums where there's a lot of bile thrown. They were toxic places. When I signed up for this one I thought it would be a civil place to talk about and debate trad, ivy and related styles.
I expected healthy discussion about fabrics and fits. I expected the purists and moderns to rib each other. I expected to maybe get an education about the history of the stuff. I guess I expected a higher level of consideration for others, since we're all here because we love the same thing - even if we express it in different ways.
But I guess, people are people, wherever you go. Maybe I'm linking the ease and grace of the style too much with the people who wear it. I'm not taking any sides here. To be honest I don't know what the fuck is going on anyway.
Just a perspective for a new member, if you desire that.
Edit: That said, I'm not leaving. There are too many pretty pictures.

We must be cautious." ―Obi-Wan ...
actually French sneakers, rubber rainboots, luggage, shoes, polo shirts, bathing suits, and tennis shorts have really been good to me over the years, I was just contemplating buying some French Ivy yesterday, made in France too ...
would be a replacement pair of something I first bought in '82 ....
