Turn(crap French sport)coat!
I'm a staunch anti-Keydgist. But I will say I've seen some good looks on here as a result of one. I mean, like, whatevvvzzzzzz.
Well, we can see a clear fracture line emerging in the forum - Keydgeist and Anti-Keydgeist. This will only end badly.
I don't like Keydges, but I want one. Schizophrenic Ivy.
Keydge are the most easily obtainable sacks in Europe, which is part of their appeal. The cotton ones are my least favourite (although I spent a summer wearing one) but the others are passable, particularly if the buttons are changed. I've got a feeling if O'Connell's opened a branch in London there would be a lot less Keydges seen.
Id say thats a pretty good reason for their popularity but to just say keydge, Ive realised doesn't sum it all up that easy...just like saying Topster equates to the same thing...there is a particular point topsters were perfect..outside of that..theyre not very nice at all cut wise.
Ha, me too. I DJed quite a lot in the 90s in fact. Unfortunately perhaps I've been unable to resist continuing with it, to varying extents.
Where were you in the 90s?
Then: Hull and beyond. Now: The Midlands and beyond. Then: funk-based, old and new. Now: the same albeit with more of a disco flavour, or Latin music. Mostly the latter over the last few years but now I'm getting a few funky bookings.
/\
Sounds good, especially the Latin element.
I know it's the music that counts, but how do promoters and club cognoscenti (generally in casual if often expensive attire, in my experience) react to the likes of Makers shirts or tweed jackets?
Genuinely curious.
I have a cord Keydge I rather enjoy wearing, it's a versatile beast and works across my wardrobe.
Never found a vintage cord sack that was right, Olly sent me a link to one last week, alas it was too small.
I doubt I would get a cotton or wool keydge, one is good but I have a wardrobe full of lovely vintage jackets that I would be gutted to lose.
I think they're ok, although overpriced (but what isn't?), but I don't really think of them as Ivy, more mainstream.
I own a Keydge and have really gone off of them this year.
Its actually in the boot of my car,all creased and i cant be bothered to bring it in.
