Damn Ollie.

I've had a few wool items I've taken to dry clean, only to have them returned to me with new moth holes.  The old lady at my local cleaner said it's not uncommon for old moth damage to appear only after the garment has been laundered.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Good suff, Bradley! I'm particularly jealous of the Brooks flannels. I have some red and navy Sero flannels (along with holy grail corduroy button downs in cream and navy) which I'm flipping in the sales thread this week as they come up too short. I'd love to find a replacement. I figured that full cut minty red b.d. above would serve me well in the meantime, to sport under brown tweeds in the fall. No such luck.

WM, I'm not convinced it's moths as the cloth basically dissolved. I think I'm to blame for this one. I basically stuffed the shirt inside a tupperware container filled with about 1/3 cold water and 2/3 white vinegar. I have a feeling I shouldn't have done that. The vinegar is probably fine for odors when dissolved in small amounts in the laundry but concentrated in high volume in a small tupperware container with just water, it probably ate right through the fabric. Guess I didn't think that one through... I'm really bummed about it. I was very excited about that shirt. It had a great subtle weave that was similar to whipcord which gave it nice texture, though it was barely discernible. Best of all was the full blousy cut, six button placket with great collar roll, and back button. I take full responsibility for murdering the shirt. Of course, had it not been sent to me smelling like a dead cow, the outcome would've been different. Had to eat the cost too since I washed it, eBay won't refund... rats!

That cord jacket is the dopest of the dope.  And I'm digging those old flannel Brooks shirts in 15R and 16R sizes.  Those are probably 60's as you say.  I have one.
