I like the perkyness of the blue vest - everybody loves a bit of perkyness
The puffy poinsettia, with it's perfectly poised posture,
produced a poignant perkiness
... in my pants!
For some reason that nylon looks good against shetland wool ala..the 60/40 parka
Anyone got any good photos of heavy tweed overcoats in action? Looking for a bit of 'stylistic inspiration'.
Grey herringbone coat with scarf and halfway-popped collar seems to nicely take it away from the somewhat clichéd smart skinhead look.
Thoughts on how informal can you go with a tweed overcoat?
Been looking myself tonight. Tried a decent overcoat on locally. It was American made, mac style buttoning all the way to the top, natural shoulder and skeleton lined. But it just seemed too lightweight for what I want?
This guy knows what time it is too:

Great outerwear. Lots of Italian-Ivy inspiration, done well, unsurprisingly...by a Japanese gent.

Back in the day, a down vest and chamois shirt (from Bean, preferably) were staple items. Stan knows all about this.
it is getting a bit cooler here too, now it's 83F with lows tonight in the mid-'70s ....
still cotton weather ... it's always cotton weather down here, I only get to wear a sweater one week a year all told, maybe, in a cold year. Sheesh.
on the upside I'm getting myself to the beach right now as fast as I can, it is beautiful out today!
Man Stan... how do you put up with that SHITE weather?
The more clothes you can wear at one time the better.. and when Ollie sorts me out with some mentalist headiness coverage... well... let's just say...

Do moths damage wool shirts - Pendleton and such like?
If the answer is yes it would make storage a nuisance.
They're not averse to a Pendleton unfortunately.
Bastards.
As it's still too warm to break out the duffle coat but a bit cool on a morning for a unlined harrington style jacket, does anyone have any suggestions for something that would serve both walking to work in and dressing down on a weekend?
I do like to look of those LL Bean barn coats but not too sure how'd they look for work. I've even considered a Barbour (most likely a Beadale in navy) but I'm wondering if I'm missing anything.
Not sure where you are fella, but the smoke is plenty warm enough for a harrington, been going out in just a tee under a shetland - which works quite well!
