John Simons may be a wide boy but there's crucial differences...
he's likeable,
he doesn't have a patronising attitude to his customers,
he doesn't constantly post on this forum trying to sell his products by slagging off his competitors,
and probably , most important , doesn't ask me to pay in advance for a shirt that doesn't yet exist.
Take whatever conclusions you like from the above,
but your continuing posts are giving the impression of someone in hole and digging themselves in deeper.
I look at my replies as being polite and respectful. But, you're right. You've all wasted my time. So, I'll stop dealing with you on that basis. Where I am it's 86 degrees, so I'm going swimming.
I've successfully re-introduced a product that swept the US 40+ years ago. That alone is accomplishment.
Screwing with people who are trying to do something - accomplish something - is fucked up.
You guys apparently have a lot of time to waste which speaks volumes.
Also: I'm not taking money for a shirt which doesn't exist. It's being escrowed by a licensed re-seller until it does. Many retailers in the US do it, i.e. Taylor Stitch. It's also the whole trunk show concept. Alden, the US bootmakers, conduct pre-orders on Styleforum just as I do, too. They're "wide-men?"

So you're cancelling my order?!!
I love this thread so much.
No, Worried Man. I thank you for it and appreciate it. I show respect to those who show it to me.
My apologies for grouping all you guys together. Some are respectful and some are not.
<<You guys apparently have a lot of time to waste which speaks volumes.>> Some of you guys have a lot of time to waste.
Some of the comments posted here are ad hominem attacks, disrespectful, demeaning, and insulting, however, and as one member admitted were solely for the purpose of winding me up.
Maybe it's a cultural difference but Charlie Davidson calls BB "an Italian department store" which is an insult, that they're "dead" and he and others - in retailing and entertainment and finance -consider me too polite and not nasty enough.
Other Charlie Davidsonisms include:
"I’ve never been a fan of ‘yes sir’ and 'no sir’. Enough with all that pussy hoho shit."
C. Davidson on customer service
"Let me tell you something, John. The whole Thom Browne skinny-f*ggy suit shit is over. It’s dead."
I'll work with anyone in a paradigm where we can both make money.
That's buying the material from me; making them for me on a CMT basis; where I'm the re-seller and making them is the US of A.
NES and I are doing business and US retailers are buying them on that basis.
So, it's an NES shirt I'm offering.

don't be upset aucociscokid2, just let your retailers sell your shirts.
it's not your fault that you don't realize that your posts here resemble some of the spam that's come through this place in the past and that repeated disappointments have hardened some people here to sales pitches.
as a lawyer you know that it's not necessary to slag off other sellers.
anyway, nobody here wishes you ill and I'm sure there is admiration here for your efforts to revive bleeding madras.
the other day I was thinking that you should eventually produce some bleeding madras cotton fabric suitable for being made into sport coats, trousers, and walk shorts.
My favorite madras garment ever was a pair of sturdy madras swim trunks in various shades of blue and black from Sears, from the '60s.
good luck with your venture, it is not easy to sell before the product is actually ready for market.

I have no dog in this fight, but I agree with stanshall. We are a small, tightly connected community here and I think people saw you come in to hawk a product, albeit one that fits in with the style here on the board. I mean I've only been here a few months and I feel like I'm part of a weird little fucked up family (is there any other kind?). Since you've only come on the board to promote or explain your product, rather than actually become part of the community, that strikes people the wrong way.
That said, I think your intentions are good and I certainly wish you the best. Also, once again echoing stanshall, if you get things off the ground, I'd be all about a bleeding madras sack jacket.

^ anyone who posts on a men's clothing forum has probably got too much time on their hands ....
Its not even like ive turned a profit for my efforts yet
show me a photograph of the shirt it will be and a swatch of the fabric, when you have the ability to do so
Will do.
Haha
Thanks for your comments Acton_Baby. Will take them under advisement.
I admit, the Davidson quotes made me a little uncomfortable.
This is one of his best, I forgot which blogger reported it first: "Get the hell out of my shop you little freak before I get one of my immaculately dressed salesmen to rip your face off."
Sounds like stuff I say.
Je suis Charlie Davidson.
Haha!
This thread has been like watching Niki Lauda's 1976 german grand prix crash on a super slo-mo VHS. Again and again and again and again...
Incredibly it's managed to burn me out of any desire to see, hear, wear, eat or mention 'Madras'. Ever.
So thanks autociscokidunot - way to go. Sartorial and culinary aversion therapy 100% successful!

Miss having my gonads busted.
The next GMTO on Styleforum starting on December 1, will be - under the Loominous label - the same exact shirt Dave Mercer has made. Loominous "Bleeding' Madras. Non-alpha sized. Select the type of collar you want, etc. Specify all the details you want as with a Mercer shirt. OK?
