amazing article on taco history with emphasis on tacos al pastor:

God, I love Roti.
Help me decide what today's lunch should be:
a) West Indian curry chicken with rice and peas and steamed cabbage and a ginger beer; or
b) corned beef Reuben sandwich with a Cel-Ray tonic; or
c) cheeseburger with extra grilled onions and a fresh lemonade.
Will return to this computer in a half-hour or so to see results.

Love The Old Ebbits, Acton Baby recommended it to me and Mrs Woof and we ate there twice on our DC trip. Great atmosphere.

/\ you know I love It's Tops, we've discussed it before but possibly in another thread, but yeah classic place, what did you have and what did you wear?
^ Most extensive gin collection in North America and killer Anglo/Dutch/Bangladeshi menu incl. welsh rarebit, steak and oyster pie, calf brain on grilled 130 year old sourdough w/ white anchovy and spicy pickles, vindaloo, naan, etc!

I live 5 minutes from the real whitechapel and in the other direction is a local distillary that makes it's own gin - everyone I know who tries it says it's the best gin they have had, Oli ask is they stock N°1 or N°2 gin from the East London Liquor Company, if not they need toget some in.
That It's Tops diner looks great, we are in L.A. For 2 weeks end of Feb next year, so will be askin for fine eateries along these line nearer the time, doubt we will get up to Frisko this time, but if we do I'll let you know.
Be sure to drop an email when you blow through, pal... we may get lucky and find ourselves down in SoCal with overlapping dates. I'd be glad to send you my list for time warp LA restaurants & bars, along with vintage hotels and record stores, modern art, thrift shops, etc.
I'll keep an eye out for the East London distillery; I wouldn't be surprised if Whitechapel carries both gins. I posted a link to the encyclopedic 20p gin/cocktail menu above, which doesn't even cover the rare stuff, imports, vintage bottles, small batch, housemade private label, etc. Did you make it to Smuggler's Cove when you were in town last? It's basically the same approach but with gin instead of rum - a complete exhaustive historical survey of classics, lost and forgotten cocktails, regional specialties, tonics, flights, etc.
Will do, will be air b'n'bing it - but might check out a few vintage Hotels as an option for the odd night too. Cheers pal.

You should sink that with google maps and share it out, if you want to that is haha.
^ T, I've only managed to get a London one started so far, but I'm slowly ploughing thro' them (it's about 16 years worth of stuff).
Some of the random rubbish I've written down as notes needs editing before I publish them tho'.

Gotta be up north. Cars look to be covered in salt. I guess it could be mud though.
